Inspiration - Belize - Tenders?

I'm confused....I have read of tenders in Belize City but my itinerary from Carnival shows landing at a dock there.

 

Can someone answer what's the true story? Are some ships using tenders and some docks or is there another story?

Its my understanding that because of the reef it is hard for the ships to get into the area at all, let alone all the way into Belize City. We were on the NCL Sea which is a small ship by today's standard and we were anchored way off shore. The tenders here were very fast though.

In Belize all ships anchor and tender their guests. There are no deep water docks in Belize. I can't speak to why your documents say "landing at a dock" but I can confirm that Belize is a 100% tender port.

My travel agent finally confirmed that also. Why the docs mention docks is a Carnival mystery apparently. :)
