In port on a Sunday

We will be in port on a Sunday, are stores, etc open? We were in Georgetown on a Sunday last year and were disappointed that so many stores were closed. Thanks for your responses!

I'm not sure---sorry! I know the stores are closed at X-Mas and on religious holidays, but I am not sure about regular Sundays.

Most of the stores are either closed or have shortened hours on Sundays.

Thank you both for the info. It may be a disappointing port for shopping on this cruise. It would be nice if Celebrity scheduled a sea day for Sundays.

When we were there, the stores on the Dutch side were open but most of the ones on the French side were closed. There was some sort of a craft fair or market in Martinique, but we weren't feeling like shopping.

 

A visit to the fort is still nice and the beaches are good. We enjoyed our visit there on a Sunday. Someone we talked to on one of the Celebrity excursions was unhappy because it included shopping time even though the stores were closed.
