Beaches in Colon, Panama?

Instead of doing the Canal Tours, We would like to spend some time on the beach. Does anyone know of any beaches within a short distance from Port?

We were there in December, and did the day at the beach/ Panama Canal tour with MyFriendMario...it was great....no beaches really near Colon, I don't think...the beach was down the coast a bit, on the way to Potobelo...nice....GREAT, reasonable restaurant right there....best garlic shrimp I ever had.

 

We saw some other people that just came by taxi, too, to the beach.

...on your cruise, this will not be the #1 beach stop. Nothing really close by and/or within walking distance. When everyone else trots off for the canal tours you can stay on the ship and enjoy the pool almost all to yourself.

We took Mario's "Panama Canal and Day at the Beach" tour last week and had a great time. The beach was called Playa Langosta, and was on the way to Portobelo. I'll post pictures once I get them downloaded.
