Silvermoon review

We just returned from our 11 night Celebrity Galaxy cruise. While in Barbados on a Sunday, we had arranged to go on the Silver Moon catamaran.

We had a very nice time. We were picked up on time by a lovely, friendly driver and taken to the catamaran. It's a beautiful boat! There were 12 of us total including our Mom who is rather frail and uses a cane to get around.

The food served was very good, drinks were plenty and the banana bread served as we returned to the dock was great!

We snorkeled with the turtles and at a "shipwreck".

There were about 5-6 turtles at the site we stopped at BUT there was also another catamaran with probably 30-40 people at the same site right beside us.

I was disappointed that we were stuck in the water with the horde of people. We did really enjoy the turtles but felt it would have been much nicer since we were on a private small boat to have snorkeled with the turtles at a much less busy time.

Too many people flailing their arms, legs, bodies, etc. at one time.

Lunch was very nice as mentioned above.

The next snorkel stop was very short and at a sunken barge. It had lots of Seargent Major fish and some other fish too. It was nice, but not great.

We sailed back and were promptly picked up and returned to the ship's pier.

The crew were nice to our Mom and the passengers, lunch and drinks were good, the turtles were numerous (but so were the people in the water), and the boat lovely.

It was a nice trip but not spectacular (TO US) as some have reviewed. We did a daysail in St. Thomas with Rumbaba that was nicer and the same price.

We DID have a good time and enjoyed ourselves, but we wouldn't call it one of the best excursions we have ever done.

We had a very similar experience last year......We had a nice time but I guess we expected more after reading the reviews on CC......Oh well, it's all good......We are very much looking forward to Rumbaba this time.:)

Maineac, we thoroughly enjoyed Rumbaba. Capt. Bobby and mate Karen are really nice and interact with the passengers much more than on Silver Moon.

In my opinion, the food on Rumbaba was better too, the Tuna was out of this world, it was cooked on the grill!

Have a great time and let us know what you think of Rumbaba:)
