Royalpair Posted February 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2007 We are leaving next week on a Western Caribbean tour, and I thought I read somewhere once that the ship time is different from the port time. Of course this wouldn't be an issue, except I have several independent tours booked, and need to know if there is a time difference. One tour did say an hour after we dock, and another said local time. Please help so we don't miss any of our tours.

PathfinderEss Posted February 8, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2007 Hey Royalpair, I just looked at you banner and saw your going to be on the Veendam, you gonna love her. Anyway, if you like piano bars go check out one of the best piano player/singer on the high seas. JP Nadeau. Tell him you read about him on cruise critic. I think he will add a lot of enjoyment to your cruise! We did the New Years cruise on the Veendam with him and had one of the best cruises ever! Have a good cruise, won't be long now! cruizmama Posted February 8, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2007 The cruiseline will tell you to change your clocks when arriving at a different time zone. Just don't forget to change them. Have fun on your cruise.
Krazy Kruizers Posted February 8, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2007 It has been a very rare occassion when we did not change our clocks to agree with a port. You will get a notice on your pillow (under your chocolate) about whether to change your clock forward or backward. There will also be a notice in the daily program. jtl513 Posted February 8, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2007 I didn't look it up, but which W. Caribbean are you on? If it's the Belize/Guatemala/Mexico route you only change time zones twice - after leaving Key West Sunday night, and on Friday night returning to Tampa. All the rest will be on our Central time zone.
Royalpair Posted February 8, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted February 8, 2007 Thanks everyone for putting my mind at ease. I thought we should change time, but I wasn't sure. Jtl513, that's the itinerary we're on. PathfinderEss, I have been reading about JP and look forward to meeting him and Shy. Due to these boards I feel very comfortable going on Veendam.
