Earplanes?

Has anyone used these before?

On our last return flight from WDW in October our DD(5 y.o.) experienced great discomfort in her ears from the cabin pressure(it bothered me too) to the point where she was crying. This has never happened before, she takes Dramamine for air/car sickness, someone suggested using Earplanes(a type of earplug) to remedy this.

Any thoughts or other suggestions? I have a call into our pediatrician but she's on vacation this week.

I haven't used earplanes YET but several people reccommended them to me. I bought 3 pairs for my kids to use when we leave May 9. They have various sinus problems and the little one is just sensitive to noise so I thought I'd head off problems. I never did find them at Walmart, but purchased them at a local pharmacy for less than $4.50 each. It's a small price of peace on the plane. LOL I'm back May 20 so I'll try to get in and post about how they worked.

I used them the other day and they do help. The brand I bought said not for kids under 12 years old... We were on an Air France airbus which are the worst for ear discomfort!

WE use them evertime, I use the childrens size as my inner ears are small. My son is 5 and has used them at least 5 times. they are the best. I used to get terribel ear pain, now I dont. They are available at walmart, walgreens etc! very cheap and you can use a few times. No medicine or icky effects. Just make sure to insert before you start to decend. Heop this helps.

depending on how far you are flying. i wear mine before take off until we reach cruising alt. Then I take them out and put em back in right before we begin to start to decend.if your flight is only 1 hr os so id leave em in. we fry from chicago to florida so I usually have them out about 1.5 hours
