Is the Hilton In Galveston close to any stores to get wine and diet coke?

We are taking a limo from Houston to Gavleston and staying at the Hilton since we won't have a car we were wondering if it is in walking distance of somewhere that we can pick up some wine and diet coke to take on the boat with us

It should be about a four block walk to Kroger. The walk is along the Seawall. I have never bought wine in the store but I assume they have it.

The Kroger store on the Seawall has a very nice selection of wine. They cannot sell wine or beer before 12:00 on Sunday. All liquor stores are closed on Sundays and during the week the liquor stores close at 9:00pm

Thanks for the info.:) I was wondering about this myself. We get in Friday eve for a Sat sailing. What time do they open on Sat.? We are staying at the Hilton Galveston, so am assuming it is the same hotel as the OP.

Also want to pick up some lite cream or half & half for my morning coffee on balcony. Do you think they sell this there also?

Kroger is a full size supermarket. The Seawall store is open 24/7 but beer and wine can only be sold between the hours of 7:00 am and midnight Monday through Saturday, and noon to midnight on Sunday.

 

Like at all supermarkets, Ice cream and Half and Half will be widely available.

Lots of convenience stores located nearby as well as 24 hour Wal-Mart. I've stayed at Hilton a couple of times & very nice hotel. Their shuttle will also take you where you want to go if it's available.

 

B Jiggers at Holiday Inn, just past Rain Forest Cafe is great place for Happy Hour. Daily drink specials until 9:00PM & live music on weekends.

Question Texans. I know the drinking age is 21, but do you have to be 21 to go to a bar. In Miami if you're under 21 you can still get into the bar, but have to stay with water and pop!
