You seem to be happy about the piano player, Alex Rudd, can you elaborate? On the CB, there was Bert Stratton who really got the audience involved with participating and played music for all ages. Does Alex get the audience in participating?

What about the activities during the day? I see on recent Patters alot happening at night but not much during the day, which surprises me since it really isn't a hang out by the pool cruise.

Lastly, for the trip down and back do we need a light jacket or what is your suggestion?

As far as the weather, I don't know if a light jacket is sufficient. I would recommend a warm sweater if you want to be out on deck on the first or last nights.

Tendering was much easier than expected. Cabo was our first tender port, and was conducted in the Explorers Lounge. There was a lot of people in there, but took no more than 15 minutes to get to land, the trip back was only about a 5 minute wait.

Alex Rudd was interactive. He took any request you had, played it without any sheet music. While singing he would sometimes substitue his own words to try and lure people walking by to take a seat. I honestly thought he was the highlight of all of the available entertainment onboard.

We're booked on the Diamond so I found the information you posted quite informative - thanks for taking the time to do so.

I think the age portion surpised me the most. On all of our Princess Cruises I've never found age to be an issue. I'm 32 now, but have cruised for 10 years, and have always found quite a few people in and around my own age. Of course we've always travelled around Christmas and New Year's so that could explain a lot of it. It will be interesting to see what demographic we find in April. My husband and I are travelling with our good friends, all of us are in our early thirties (without our kids - woohoo! lol)

Funny, as far as entertainment goes we're most looking forward to the pop idol (not singing, gawd no lol, but watching. Okay, and laughing lol). None of us are much for the standard cruise shows, it's just not our taste or style. A comedian would be okay and we'll definitely give the piano guy a go - I love contemporary playing.

What about the casino? What kind of crowd did it draw? None of us are big time gamblers or anything, but we do get some enjoyment from the blackjack and roulette tables. I think of the casino as being one of our regular stops of the night.

And what about the night club? Was it well populated? Again, another nightly stop I predict (to my husband's horror being the non-dancer that he is).

Interesting comments on the social staff. I've often wondered what the point of their possitions were. I mean really, who cares? Not I, but I suppose some people get a kick out of them.

Oh, and the mention of garbage and cigarette butts (ewww) on the balcony - was this on purpose do you suppose? We're booked on the Baja deck because we don't want overlookers above us, and definitely not their garbage. Or was the garbage from your neighbours on the Caribe? Garbage would definitely be an issue for me...

Thanks again for the feedback.

It's a very fair review. Thanks for posting it! :)

We really do prefer RCI too and I think it has to do with our ages (early 40's) and the upbeat (but not obnoxious) atmosphere of the ships, but Princess is a good alternative and has many more itineraries to choose from.

Thanks again for the info. It was interesting to read! :)

The Casino was a lot of fun. I participated in a few slot tournaments that were very fun. The blackjack/roulette tables were almost always busy, which I enjoy.

The garbage/food issue was definitely from the cabins above us. I hope it was accidential, especially the cigarette butts. That is a very dangerous scenario as we know from the Star. (I should note that there wasn't a lot of rubbage, just one or two items per day).

The nightclub was a joke on our sailing. I actually didn't go up there myself, but the one 'friend' (that was in our age group) that did go up there on the 3rd night said that it was just her and the DJ up there at 11P! She talked to him and said that he knew by the first night that it was going to be a very slow sailing for him.

PS. The Princess Pop-Star theme is "if you're good, it's good...if you're bad, it's better!". I think you'll definitely have some laughs!

quite honestly we didn't look at any of the "signature dishes" in the anytime restaurants. We did look in all of the anytime restaurants and my favorite was definitely the Santa Fe room.

We did attend afternoon tea in the Pacific Moon dining room one day. It was fun, but they served Lipton tea. Not exactly my idea of high tea...
