Port or Starboard on Northbound Cruise?

Another dumb question (Thank you for your patience;))

,If we choose to take a Northbound cruise from Vancouver to Whittier, does it make a difference if we book the starboard or port side of the ship?:o

We prefer the port side because as you enter Glacier Bay and College Fjord most of the Glaciers are on the left side of the ship and there is more narration as you are entering. For us, we prefer the port side whether sailing Northbound or Southbound. While it is also true that on the way out the right side of the ship will see the same thing as when entering, it just seems to me like it is more exciting to see everything on the way in.

BTW, speaking of which is the best side, if you are going to Whittier, from Anchorage, try to sit on the right side of the bus or train and if you are coming from Whittier to Anchorage try to sit on the left side. A good portion of the trip there is the side of a mountain on one side, while on the other side there is a fantastic view of Turnagain Arm and the mountains behind it. Enjoy!

As clarification for your selection- IF you are sailing Glacier Bay and/or College Fjords AND only want your glacier viewing from your balcony, you need a port side. Views are superior from the front however. Otherwise you are going to have views from both sides part of the trip.
