Splinter Posted February 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2007 Here is information on parking in San Diego for cruise ships: http://www.portofsandiego.org/sandiego_maritime/cruise/parking.asp Do you know anyone in San Diego? If so, how about parking at their house and getting them to run you to the ship and pick you up again? It will save you a lot of money.

coolcat12 Posted February 17, 2007 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2007 Hey Melissa, Here's another linky: http://www.wwss-sandiego.com/ There is also parking at the airport that has a shuttle to ship and back to lot. Linky: http://www.sdap.net/ They take reservations. Something like $50 for the week I think. I am going in 3 weeks and still don't know if I want to park at the pier for the or save some money and go to the airport. I will probably park in the lot near the pier. I volunteer to be the parking guinea pig.

The entrance is on the south side of the lot. Check out Splinter's link, it might have the information you are looking for (I have not looked at it, but he know a lot about San Diego). suziehmkr Posted February 18, 2007 #9 Share Posted February 18, 2007 The hotel we are staying at in April offers parking ...Have any of you done that? Would that be a good option? We have done this several times when cruising. For San Diego, we stayed at the Best Western that was a few blocks away. We were on a tight budget that particular year, so had to go the cheapest route. The hotel was fine - nothing to complain about really. http://www.baysideinn.com/packages.htm
Splinter Posted February 18, 2007 #10 Share Posted February 18, 2007 The lots marked above are the Lane Field/5 Star locations (right next to each other). Note that they do not provide a shuttle, and have no indoor parking. The parking at the airport is VERY expensive...more than $20/day. No one parks there long term. We either take a shuttle, get a ride with a friend, or use one of the lots listed on the cruise ship Port District webpage above.

Darlipoo Posted February 18, 2007 #13 Share Posted February 18, 2007 There is a huge lot literally across the street from the pier. See post above. But for future cruisers, that lot is going to be turned into office/hotels/ etc. in the future. I think it will be safe this year though.
