Welcome home..........

Cant believe you are selling your house:( .Thought we were swapping:p

Anyway, question..........I know they have Freeze there now..........and I assume instead of Ben and Jerrys???? So what about the coupon .Is it good for Freeze??

What cabin did you have??

We're going March 9th and cant wait..........

There is no Freeze coupon and I didn't try it. I did take photos of Freeze. The B&J coupon is still in the booklet and normally is usable since there is a B&J on Coco Cay. But it was so cool on Coco Cay that I never saw the B&J stand open.

I was in cabin 1058. It may be a while before anyone finds the coupons I left under the Bible. I don't remember which coupons I left but they were ones I know I'd never use. No freebies or casino coupons are under the Bible.

I'd probably pass for older.... I've looked 37 since I was 15. :D I was looking for you on sailaway, but don't know if the poor weather in Miami drove you inside or not.

At the C&A party we were seated immediately behind the person with 65 cruises that got the bottle of champagne. We will make better arrangements nextime we are on the same cruise! :D

As for us... everything was fine except that our dinner companions were not the greatest. It was a family of 8, and us. Should've made arrangements to move on the 1st night, but didn't. When they started throwing food at each other for play, I knew we wouldn't make it. Dined in Windjammer last night. Yikes......

I took some photos and will try to post them tomorrow. I'm worn out.

I was off the ship and in the parking lot by 7:30am. We had to wait for our friends who drove up with us and they were out by 8:00am by carrying their own bags off. We were home in our own house by 8:50am. I said hi to the cat, unpacked and laid down for a nap and slept ALL day until just before I logged on here. I still feel like I need a nap.

We did have a great trip. I loved the cool/cold weather. There were barf bags left out on the stair cases when we left Nassau yesterday since they expected rough seas. I took Bonine before departure - which was the roughest night for me - and again in Nassau. I never got even slightly ill. I noticed the rolling of the ship at 4am this morning and the room was creaking loudly.

I skipped the final show - Boogie Wonderland - since I've seen it before.

They are very good at asking for all details to be filled out on the C&A on board savings coupons preventing duplicate use of older coupons since they will only allow the amount to be applied to the account that one is entitled to. Even my husband and I had to log onto the internet under different accounts in order to use both coupons. The only place this wasn't the case was in the casino. I was able to use up all my old gold, platinum and current diamond $5 match play coupons.

All four of us in our traveling group came out a little bit ahead in the casino. I put $1 in the slots twice and got nothing so I quit. I doubled my $20 at the roulette table and quit. My DH came out a little more than $100 ahead. Our female friend won about $40 on $1 of her free $2 C&A coupon money at the slots - if that made sense. Our male friend plays all night at Black Jack and ended up with an extra $350.

Someone asked. The refrigerator situation is the same. They have them in the JS category and over. We had a credit card activated safe in our JS. Our friends had a keypad safe in their OV room on deck 8.

The downside to the suites on Majesty is the noise from the pooldeck above. It varies depending on location. I was directly below deck chairs and after the midnight pool party was over they began cleaning the deck at about 4am. They seem to make a lot of effort to DROP chairs in place. from 4 - 5:30 am there was dragging and bang bang noises VERY loud coming from the deck above.

Most of the photos I have will be of the ship. I didn't take many on Coco Cay and none on Nassau since I've got so many from previous cruises.

One more thing. There is a major workmanship flaw in the refurbishment which they will soon notice and will cause them a lot of work. I know this because I have stairs in my house that are designed like their stairs.

When individual stairs are carpeted they should be seamed at the back of each individual step. Their carpet layer seamed all of the steps at the front, right where the toe kicks the step - especially by those who drink a lot. :) I noticed that the seams are already splitting on the steps due to all the shoe abuse.

The carpet all looks appealing by the color and design. But it is constantly pilling. They vacuum, it looks great, and in no time there are fuzz balls all over it again. Hopefull this will stop on it's own after it has defuzzed itself over time.

The beds look great and are VERY comfy.

Mommabean, I'm sorry your vacation is over. thank you so much for updating us on the Majesty. Hubby and I will be sailing on her April 2nd.

Is Wi-Fi available in all the cabins or just suites?

Wi Fi is in all the cabins from what I understand. It is VERY slow. I won't bring my laptop again. It's not worth it to me. I had hoped we would have free internet as was posted here, in which case it wouldn't have mattered to me how slow it was. Only in the case of free internet would I bring my laptop - and that won't happen. A weekly charge for unlimited access would also be reason to bring one's own computer. They offer some package prices but they don't offer very much of a discount at those rates.

Do you think the wi-fi in the cabins would be slower as the internet cafe, or is it all the same?

I would do most of my typing off line and then upload. Saves time (and money) :D

We won't have cell phone access in the bahamas, so we only have the internet to connect with the kids left behind

We're leaving on the Majesty this Friday, and can't wait to see the refurbishment results! We were on her recently in December, so hopefully we'll see major changes!

A few questions for those just coming off her today....

Are there new lounge chairs at the pool? What type are they? (Still the slatted ones, or do they now have covers?)

What types of foods on are on the different stations in the Windjammer?

What did you mean by the "appetizer table"? Is it in the dining room? Do we now get our own appetizers??

Has the bedding been replaced?

Has any work been done to the cabins, i.e., bathrooms?

Thanks!!

Michele

Michele,

hor doerves - appetizers...this was at the platinum/diamond party on board.

I never saw anyone in the pool. It was cold outside. Maybe people went in when I wasn't looking but there was definitely no one in the pool at the sail away party. I didn't ever sit by the pool or look at the chairs. I did take a picture of my balcony chairs so maybe the pool chairs are the same. I don't know for sure, I admit. I've never been in a pool on a ship so this isn't my area of expertise. :)

The bedding is new and I slept great other than the banging noises. There were more pillows than I'd ever need.

My bathroom had granite counter tops. They are the original toilets. The closet hardware inside was the same. Rooms had new carpet, curtains, bedding, drawers, pictures, maybe even new a new sofa and chair. If the furniture wasn't new, it looked it.

My husband thought the food in the windjammer was a great improvement. We only ate lunch there right after we boarded. I didn't eat too much. I had wahoo with teriyaki sauce, salad, fried plantains and some other things I don't remember. I tend to forget what I ate right after it's gone. My DH remembers what we ate and where even years later, so I don't need to remember. :D

Mommabean,

Glad you had a good time and thanks so much for the info. Just a few more questions when you have a moment:

Are Freeze items priced individually like B&J's? Is the Compass deli a separate cost or included in the cost of the cruise?

Tell me about the seasick medicine you had? Is that Bonine? My wife and I have never cruised so I'm not sure how it will affect us and if we should have something on hand just in case.

Thanks again!

The lounge chairs are the same old slatted ones, but they did look newish to me. We only spent about 30 minutes out there while waiting to sail from Coco Cay. That was about the only time I could stand being outside for the whole trip. :D It was downright chilly at times. The sun did pop out nicely for a bit while we were on Coco Cay. It was almost warm. Certainly an improvement over the 4 inches of sleet that still hasn't melted here at home.

I also just got back from the Majesty - everything looked great! We had a wonderful time - the cruise was too short - weather a tad too cold though. We did go to Coco Cay and try to lay out - it did warm up a bit when the sun came out - I do remember seeing a Ben & Jerry's there.

The pool chairs looked like the regular older ones that they have on all the ships - but they didn't look old. We say out there one night after leaving from Coco Cay.

Call me an idiot, but I don't remember seeing a Ben & Jerry's on CocoCay. Where is it?

There are at least 2 rolling Ben and Jerry's carts like an old fashioned ice cream man would push around. One of the carts is right where you get off and board the tender. They were not opened this time but the carts were sitting there.

I will post a photo of the Freeze menu. I believe the compass deli is included in the price but with the short open hours, I never got a chance to walk inside. I think they are open from 11:30am - 5pm. Or maybe it was 11am that they open. I don't remember for sure.

Yes, I had bonine which is the same as generic meclizine. You can ask at the purser's desk and they will give you little 2 packs of meclizine. You only need to chew one every 12 hours. It does not make you drowsy - that is all in some people's head. I know. Regular dramamine knocks me out for hours. Bonine (meclizine) does not. Bonine is fruit flavored. The meclizine on the ship tastes like nothing. Take one at least a half hour before sail away just to be sure. Some people start taking it the night before but I never found that to be necessary.

Some other things I thought of - I DID eat in the Windjammer for breakfast. I'll never understand how anyone can complain. There is something for everyone. They even have fat waffles - not the Aunt Jamima or eggo style flat frozen type. There is food that southerner's will like, including biscuits and sausage gravy. Europeans will like the assorted coldcuts and musli. There are hot and cold cereals. Low carbers will like the assortment of hot meats and eggs - even omelet stations. There are loads of cut up fruits and whole fruits for taking and eating later.

The casino has a very low ceiling and always seems to stay smoky. It didn't appear smoky but smelled like smoke and made my throat and sinuses feel scratchy.

The hand sanitizers were off to the side going into the Windjammer and I was not once asked to use it.

The constant cleaning was going on. I even saw one woman walking down the hall with a bottle and rag in hand, wiping off any little scuff mark that she saw on the walls.

Both dining rooms look great. I went down to the starlight dining room and thought it might even look more elegant than the moonlight dining room where we ate. Or maybe it was just "the grass is always greener" syndrome in my head. :)

Here are some photos from my cruise on Majesty of the Seas. I created this account many years ago but never used it. It took me a while to sort it all out.

Some photos may bore you, some are different than the usual and some I might be in big trouble for posting. This is only a sampling of the photos I took. I haven't edited them yet so some may be off the horizontal due to the rocking of the ship...or of me. :)

I hope the link works.

Adventure Ocean photos are included but not all of them. They have a lot of hand washing stations in AO with simple signs reminding kids to wash their hands and why.

Thanks for these pics! Do you happen to remember if the AO pics posted with the computers are in the area for the 6-8 year olds or the 9-11 year olds or if they share?

I'm pretty sure they are in the area for all the kids that aren't teens. It's a large area with separate sections. I wondered why there were so many different rooms with computer stations, but it must be because of the age division. That must account for the various sink stations, too.

It was a really cute area. There was a wall full of empty picture frames placed down low where they must either put photos or art work on display during each cruise.

There was a computer area for the teens upstairs by the Living Room.

One more question, about the fitness center locker room. Before the renovations, after working out you could use the shower area which included access to a small steam room and dry sauna. Is that still the setup? Thanks.

I didn't use any of the fitness area - I just walked through briefly looking for treadmills. I did see a shower/steam room area but didn't walk though. I don't even remember the exact location.

I can say that during my 8am massage they had an arobics class that started at the same time directly over my room. Bam Bam Bam! And then some hammering started. One day maybe they will figure out how to sound proof the supposedly relaxing treatment rooms.
