Bumped from New Orleans, on to Galveston!

Our cruise out of New Orleans on the Triumph was cancelled by Carnival. They moved us over to Galveston on the Conquest and now we have to plan some new shore excursions. Has anyone been to that Sandals all inclusive?? It sounds very nice and would it be ok for first time cruisers? We were a little bummed out about being cancelled but for our troubles Carnival did pony up 200.00 in on board credit for both of us. Any good excursion tips for Grand Caymans?? Thanks in advance and we are REALLY looking forward to our trip!!

$200 OBC for the Conquest? Ours was $100. I thought Carnival was offering $200 OBC if you rebook on the Triumph out of Galveston, or $100 if you book the Conquest out of Galveston. Or did you have two separate booking numbers and two separate rooms?

We also switched to the Conquest. We received 100.00 obc for each cabin. 200.00 was offered for staying on Triumph out of Miami or booking anther ship out of Miami think it was Victory or Valor.

I think we are going to Sunset Beach in Jamicia.

Have you checked the ports of call section?

In the Cayman I rented a car from Avis for 35.00 and drove around the island. It's small. We went to the turtle farm and held these huge turtles. You can do your own tour pretty cheap if you desire. The only drawback is they drive on the opposite side from us. It's like England but it was fun and easy.

Definitely recommend stingray city in Grand Cayman. By the way, the Conquest is very nice. We went on it last year (similar situation---booked New Orleans but Katrina messed that up). Galveston was ok, but difficult to get to (fly to Houston and rode in bus for over an hour to Galveston).
