Parking & Hotel Questions - Crown Princess New England Cruise

Can anyone advise on parking at the Brooklyn Pier and suggest a hotel close by that area? We are from California and have no clue! We have reserved the Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge location while we do our research! Anyone know how far from the pier we would be if we stay there? If you know, what would taxi fare be to the ship from there? We are thinking of parking the car in the cruise parking lot before checking into the hotel the day before sailing. Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks.
