Help--price Drop After Final Payment-costa

Does anyone know about getting a refund/onboard credit if the price for your category is dropped after final payment. We booked through a TA on a group booking (even though we booked 1 room). Since then, on the websites (cruise.com, cruisesonly.com, *****.com, etc...) the price for our room has dropped 300 dollars. However, the price on the official costa website is still the same as it was 3 months ago(325 more than we paid) Your advice/help is greatly appreciated.:)

The price dropped on our cruise too. We booked through *****.com and were originally charged $399 each (plus taxes)...but then it went down to $299. We tried calling to see if we could get the difference back, or onboard credit or something, but Costa "doesnt do that." We were undercharged about $200 by mistakes of Costa, so i guess it worked out fine! Good luck!

Hi--I had same experience with VTG (Vacations to Go) with them having no interest in helping after a price drop but complete opposite (great) with Cruise.com. They will upgrade you every time a price drop happens all the way up to the sailing. All agents can do this, it's just a matter of who is willing to do a little work after their comission is made. I adore our cruise.com agent. Her name is BEth, and she is at extension 1-4-7. We just found her, and she is great. Several people on the forums have had good experiences with cruise.com upgrading after price drop. Good luck. Hopefully your agent will help you.

Our TA isn't open until monday. I know we'll have to eventually go through her to get anything done, but I just wanted to get as much info as possible before hand. I have used her before this trip and had nothing good to say, but this time, it seems that once she got our final payment, she is too busy for us. I will be using a different ta next time. She has become quite a smart***. She argued with me about the x1 package for 2 weeks (wouldn't even call costa), until i basically MADE her call:mad: . Once she actully called, we got it booked without any problems.

This has just happened to us also.

The only difference is that the drop was showing on Costa's website.

Don't know when your cruise is, but ours is in April. Costa dropped the price considerably only three days after final payment. If it was closer to the cruise, I would have been more understanding, but right after final payment seems...well...just so calculated.

Called our TA and she called Costa. The first person she spoke to said it was for new bookings only, but she said she would keep trying.

Well, we did get a shipboard credit for $400. :) I still would have rather had a credit on my cc, because I can't use the obc for tips, or the casino, but you can be sure we will be drinking alot.;)

I had the same problem when I booked a cruise w/ Orbitz on Costa Mediterian for 3/11 and then the next few days the prices went down dramatically. I new that the closer to the cruise date the prices drop but I was afraid that it would sale out before a got a good bargain. Persistance pays off and dealing with my Orbitz (sister company of Cruise.com) travel agent she was able to upgrade me to a suite. Even though I booked the cruise w/ an acceptable price, I felt cheated when they lowered it. In short, your travel agent does have an influence with dealing with Costa. I will use orbitz again.....happy cruizen
