Cruisingjer Posted February 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2007 Now that I will be platinum, what benefits will I get? When they mention priority boarding, does that mean I do not have to wait outside the terminal? As platinum member can I go aboard and store my luggage somewhere, while I wait for my cabin to open? Thanks, Jerry
negc Posted February 24, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2007 By priority boarding, I believe that they mean that there is a dedicated check in line for platinum and above C&A members as well as guests who are booked in suites. Once onboard, we have sometimes found that there is a place where you can check your carryons which will be delivered to your room once it is available. That is not always the case however, and sometimes we have just taken it with us and gone to the Windjammer for lunch. Platinum members can have the custom air fee waived if they want to use the cruiseline's air package but pick their airlines and flights, and if you book a balcony room you are entitled to a platinum discount. Should you book a balcony stateroom for your next cruise while you are on your current cruise, you are eligible for a balcony discount and an onboard credit the amount of which will vary according to the length of your cruise. Onboard you will also receive a Platinum coupon book with coupons redeemable for various purchases onboard, a credit for internet usage, and casino expenditures. There may also be a private departure lounge where you can relax and have a continental breakfast while waiting to depart the ship. Check out the RCI website for a more complete description of the benefits that come with various levels of C&A membership. Thanks, Jerry This question confused me. When you say "now that I will be Platinum" instead of "now that I AM Platinum" it made me wonder if this cruise you will be earning your 5th credit or if you have already completed your 5th credit. You need to have completed your 5th credit in order to be Platinum, you do not yet get any Platinum benefits while earning your 5th one. I hope I am making sense in what I am trying to say. I hope you are already Platinum and will be able to take advantage of the benefits that go with the status. :D The link to the Royal Caribbean website is a good source of info. If you provide your ship's name there will be more people here who can help you with specifics as they vary from port to port.
