Cutting it too close in New Orleans?

You should be ok. It only takes about 30 - 45 minutes from the airport to the port, and there's usually not that much traffic on the weekend.

We'll be sailing on the grandeur on April 7. Hope you have a great cruise! :)

I hate to sound like a pessimist but I travel for business and it is not unusual for flights to be late - weather, air traffic control, etc. I've waited an hour for a carrier to get a stuck baggage door open on the plane.

I fly into/out of MSY a lot and honestly, I think you are cutting it a bit close. If there is a mechanical on your flight from CVG you'll be SOL as re-rousing via-Atlanta (the other way Delta would get you to New Orleans) would leave you missing the boat.

Try to switch to the early morning flight into New Orleans then check in at the port early and explore the area.
