cigar room on the volendam???

is there a designated cigar room on the volendam? or do they have a designated area for their cigars under the stars. my thanks and best wishes jcike.

My recall is that last year there was not a dedicated room, but cigars under the stars was on the Lido near the bar.

The Prisendam has an Oak Room where you can smoke cigars.

The Vista class ships also have an Oak Room where there are sliding doors that open onto the Observation Deck. The Vista class ships also have a room off the Explorer's Lounge where you can smoke - don't know if you can smoke cigars in there.

Time to blow some preconceptions. Last year on the Volendam they held "cigars under the stars" near the aft pool on the Lido deck. Twas nice. Christopher turned a little green, but I enjoyed it.

On the ships, other than the Vista and Prinsendam sometimes it is held at the Dolphin bar and sometimes at the Aft Lido Bar. Just check the daily programme.

 

There is no designated cigar room on the Volendam and you are not allowed to smoke cigars in the little smoking section of the Explorers Lounge on any of the ships. Unless there is a designated Smoking Room they ask you to please refrain from smoking cigars or pipes inside the ship.

 

DH used to love having a cigar with a brandy after dinner in the Explorer's Lounge. Do any of you remember when the bar girls sold the cigars in the Explorer's and then would perform a ritual lighting them and dipping the tip in Cognac? There were a lot of complaints because some people felt it was too sensual , so they stopped it. DH didn't like that. :mad:

On our last HAL cruise, Nov. 2003,Amsterdam, South America, there was no "Cigars Under the Stars" and we really missed it. Hope it's back on our next trip in November to the Caribbean!!!
