Rain Forest Aerial Tram - how far from Port?

Does anyone know how far you have to go to the rain forest aerial tram from the cruise port (driving time/mileage)?

 

Has anyone done this excursion?

 

We do not want to go on an organized tour, we just would like to catch a taxi and go to the rainforest and ride the tram. Does anyone know what the fee is to ride the tram?

 

Any information would be appreciated! We will be in St. Lucia on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 aboard the Carnival Legend.

I followed you over here from the St. Kitts board. :D

I did a search on this forum for the aerial tram, not many posts, mostly people asking questions, not a lot of answers. I think the facility was just completed and opened about a year ago. There is contact information on the website - maybe you should contact them and ask. The cruise is getting close!:D
