ClerkPatsy Posted March 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2007 So, what do you want to know. You hop in a Jeep ~~ drive for about 15-20 minutes ~~ arrive at Chaak Tun. There your guide(s) will bring you to the cavern where you will have the option of snorkeling/swimming or just walking around without getting wet. Afterwards, you are offered a softdrinks/water and then you head out to the Jeeps again. You will then drive for about 15-20 minutes ~~ arrive at the beach where you will be offered a wonderful Mexican meal and softdrinks/water. You will spend time on the beach (about 1 - 1 1/2 hours). You will jump back in the Jeeps and head back to the dock.

lee42lee Posted August 10, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 10, 2009 We just did this tour last week and loved it. The caves were amazIng (COLD Water), the mexican buffet was great and the beach was perfect. Totally recommend it and would do it again.

sandymon Posted November 11, 2010 #10 Share Posted November 11, 2010 They keep everyone close and you have to wear life preservers, so it seemed safe to me. The water was crystal clear but not a large area to swim, about the size of a pond. The beach was fantastic and on the drive you have a chance to see a lot of the real Mexico. Very interesting to me. Our guide remembered everyones name. The jeeps are all manual transmissions and no air conditioning, as it seemed all the cars on the roads were. I can drive a manual but preferred letting another of the group drive so I could enjoy the senery. I would not take this tour outside of Carnival due to the length of time may cause you to be late returning if something unusual happened. Well worth the money one time, but now on to new adventures. Hope you enjoy!!!

Crusin Hogs Posted February 1, 2011 #13 Share Posted February 1, 2011 The guides have a Jeep in front and a guide Jeep in the rear 12 Jeeps in all , They tell you ( If I go fast ,you go fast, I go slow you go slow) Mid way thru our tour the guides had to tell a couple of drivers to speed up, Tour is run on a tight schedule , so who ever drives must not be slow or afraid to drive aggressivley in traffic We run 60 to 80 mph on the highways , and the stop signs (ALTO) mean nothing in mexico
