Hotel before Costa cruise in Savona, Italy

We are sailing on Costa Atlantica in October and need help finding a hotel. Has anyone found one that they have found to be clean and close to the port?

We were delighted with the Riviera Suisse in Savona. We chose it because it was the only one that replied to our e-mails, but we were very glad it was. It is older, which means the rooms are very spacious. It also means that the carpets are not brand new. But it is well-managed. The front desk is very helpful and the included breakfast featured the best croissants we have had in at least ten years. We chose the standard room rather than the superior and did not regret our choice.

We stayed there too. Would recommend to everyone. Let them know you're on a Costa cruise and they'll let you leave your bags at reception after checkout time and call a taxi for you when you are ready to leave. They even posted our postcards for us!

They respond very quickly by e-mail and speak pretty good English
