Live from Sea Princess

Yes, we are here and having a great time. The CC group has met twice and are a fun bunch. We got out of FLL without a hitch and got into Princess Cay, but Capt. Nash seemed to park in Nassau to tender and that was a bit of an issue. The weather is lovely and we'll try to post once in a while. We're having way too much fun to be in the Internet Cafe. We just got into Tortola, a little late, but we're here and I'm off to the beach.

Hi Alice! Glad to hear you are enjoying the Sea Princess and thanks for taking the time to check in. Sorry you arrived a bit late into port. You are parked in Nassau hey? LMAO Love those tender rides. ;)

How is Tom doing in the casino, I hope he has found my lucky slot!?

Check in when you can and enjoy your day at the beach!

Hi Alice and Tom,

Glad to hear you are having a good time.

We were one of the last to leave the ship and they had to call our names to leave. We thought we might see you boarding.

We made the mistake of spending the afternoon at Pussers Bar in Tortola drinking pain killers. Boy they go down easy, but are real Brian Killers.

Tom can take my place at the BJ tournament, I won both of them. Say hi to Atlisa, Felix,Tanya and Dex in the casino for me. They know me by Richie Rich.

Also if you see Luigi the assistant maitre d' mention Mr. Smith to him and he will really take care of you.

Have a great time and don't spend to much time on the internet.

Hi Sue and Richard,

Richie Rich?? I like that one. I will look for Luigi for sure. We have 6 and find that eating a little early works at Anytime. The Brits eat early. I didn't notice that there is another thread LIVE from here. I'll let them keep you posted on the sceen. I'll report back after St. Vincent. The casino is fine, it has been busy. I was hoping no one would be there. It's so small that it has seemed crowded for me. The machines are fun and Tom loves the BJ. I saw Beth (Calif Cruiser)sit down and play the Fire Engine machine, didn't know a thing about it, played 5 lines for 10 and got right on the island and won 3000 coins. She'll think that's normal. I advised to quit at 1500 and collect. She did.

We're almost ready to leave Barbados. The virus has the service on Horizon Court a little slow, but not really a problem. I think that they have done a great job keeping it in check. The captain said that there are very few new cases in the sick bay. Good news. I have so much alcohol jell on my hands that they are drunk.

Our group is great, we even have the winner of the hula hoop contest from cruise critic. Who knows what other talents we have here.

The casino has been busy. I was suprised at that. Tomorrow we do Waynes tour and I will check in when I can.

Glad to hear you are having a great cruise Alice.

The morning after we left Barbados the ship's doctor made an appearance on the "morning show". He was very funny and implored anyone who felt a little icky to call him. He promised he would make a "house call" to their cabin to check on them at absolutely no charge for the service. I guess no one had the noro because we never noticed any change in operations in the buffet or notices about the virus.

Have a great second half of the cruise and thanks for posting...we wish we were cruising with you!

Debbie

Alice, thanks for checking in. Glad to hear you are keeping those hands drunk, and that you two are staying healthy. I hope they keep that nasty bug in 'check' for the rest of your sailing, maybe they can stop it in it's tracks.

Have a great time in St. Vincent, hope the weather is bright and sunny for you all. Will be watching for you to check back in and let us know how the tour goes tomorrow, although I probably won't look for the actual post until Monday (LOL and I am sure you know why ;))

The casino busy? Oh My, now that doesn't happen very often except late at night on that ship. Best of luck, win a bunch!

Wish we two were also with you, have a great night.

Hi Alice,

Its been a while since was on Sea Princess, can you tell me how the ship is, was loads of work being done to her we onboard, areas were shut of for welding crews etc gangs taking big pipes in and out of ship, carpets getting laid etc.

Had a few problems with the ship so much so that I sent a long detailed leter to Princess and got a good sized credit for my problems.

Is the casino just as small as I recall, there was a sitting area with card tables etc that no one used.

What is the highest paying jackpot on the bandits, are there any $5 or $25 machines onboard.

have a great cruise.

yours Shogun

Is one of the swimming pools covered? I remember the MUTS and wonder if that big screen means that neither pool can have a roof.

You might be thinking of the Grand class ships with the large covered pool area. Neither of the two main pools on any Sun class ship are covered in any case. The aft pool (small round one near the gym) is partially covered tho.

Toto not sure if you had time to check out web cam but sunny.

Can only imagine them coming back...

I know that black sand got to me. Not the rum but the sand.:p

Yea Yea Yea rotti, I hear you. It was the black sand beach that did it to you, nothing at all to do with that potent rum punch served onboard. LOL

Thanks for checking the weather, I got busy this afternoon and didn't get a chance to take a peak. Glad to hear they had some sun, last time Alice and Tom when with us it rained (and I mean total downpour) almost the entire day. Can't wait to hear about it when they return. But then, I don't expect to get any feed back until at least tomorrow, and we both know why don't we? ;)

Just wondering how late you were getting to Tortola? What was the reason...weather?

CaribbeanCrazy

I think the problem was that we left Princess Cays about two hours late - we arrived Tortola about 40 minutes late. Weather has been excellent!!

I'm still here. We had the best time with Wayne. A few drops of rain at the lava flow, but hot and sunny. He is a real joker. I didn't realize how funny he is. He and Emmitt ahowed us how to spend a day on an island. The new boat is lovely and FAST! 3 huge motors. Lunch was outstanding. There were 25 of us and there wouldn't have been room for more. It was OK though, we were bonding over the rum punch and had a blast. The water at the black beach was fantastic and we got to snorkel. Someone mentioned to Wayne that Princess would not be coming to St. Vincent next year. That didn't make his day. I don't know that that is a fact. I'll have to check that one out and let him know. Sue, you might want to do that if you have a chance. Do you have an email for him? He made some nice $$ on our trip and everyone really liked him.

The casino is half the size of other Sun Class ships and it has been crowded. Where did all these gamblers come from. Tom is doing very well, he told me to come and write more messages to you guys and to get another book from the library. What a guy!

Our CC group is great. We have two other couples with us and have dinner together with them every night. Otherwise, we would be hanging out with the group. They are actually as nice as our 11/5 group. I didn't think there would ever be as good a group, but here they are.

Yes, the only covered pool in a round small pool in the back of the ship. It's partially covered and does not retract.

Alice, Thanks for checking in, I was getting worried. LOL

Well, sorry to say I looked at the intinerays just yesterday to see when we might be able to return to St. Vincent. I can't find any of the Princess ships that will be stopping there. I even checked those sailing the Southern route out of San Juan, checked them all. Yes, Wayne is going to be VERY disappointed in hearing this, as I was. I will do a thorough check and then send him a quick email of what I find, but I am afraid I will be the one with bad news for him. :( Such a shame, he is so much fun and the tour is so great, we have been on Wayne's tours three times now and would gladly do it again any time we visit St. Vincent. But it doesn't look like that will be happening any time soon, unfortunately. :(

25 for the tour is really filling that great new boat. We had 23 last time and were very comfortable, but even going a bit over that can get a tad crowded. Not sure where he would put 28. lol

That new boat is fabulous, we could not believe how fast it went with the three engines. You can get to see a lot more when you can go from one end of he island to the other lightening fast.

Any dolphins this time? Alas, we couldn't find any in December, hopefully you got to see some though.

Nice to hear you have another good group onboard. Although I am sure our 'old' group would have loved to join all of you on this sailing too. ;)

Have a great time, and enjoy your final ports. I have been watching the webcam and your weather looked pretty good, let's hope it stays that way at least until the end of the week.

Hello to Tom, and if you see Beth, please give her my best!

That is terrible for Wayne.

I actually tied to book next years based on St Vincent.:o

Oh I bet they dock at Trinidad though. (oh joy)

One of our group left her hat with Emma. Lovely yellow number.

Hair would not tuck under.

His hat went the route amoungst us and some great shots were taken at lunch.

Still say it was the sand Toto. Or they table full of beers at lunch.

Anyone reading this booked for St Vincent do book this for sure.

rotti- I just did a complete check of all the Caribbean Cruises Princess has scheduled through 2008. The only other Princess ships stopping in St. Vincent will be the Sea Princess March 31st cruise out of Fort Lauderdale with a stop on April 8th.

I have emailed the bad news to Wayne as Alice asked. Such a shame, for those who enjoy water related tours, this one is by far the best.

Thanks Chuck, will pass that info along. Although since this cruise is probably 99.9% British sailing from Southampton, I doubt it will have many private tours booked. But you just never know. Again, appreciate you scouting this for me.
