mauimomma Posted March 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2007 Hello fellow cruisers! Just got off the phone with RCCL, and they advised me that new bedding on AOS began Feb 25th, and will be finished on April 22nd. This is great news, as our family will be sailing on AOS May 20th!! Nothing like a good nights sleep!

Sun Lover Posted March 7, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2007 I assume they're starting with the top deck and working their way down?
Go38car Posted March 7, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2007 I was on last week's cruise, and they started on deck 10. I was on deck 10, but didn't get the new bedding....I guess they only had so many.
Tex_Jen Posted March 7, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2007 I was on last week's cruise and they sure didn't make it to Deck 9. Saw quite a few mattresses in dumpsters outside the ship in St. Thomas, so obviously, they are working on it. Jen

OSU MOM Posted March 7, 2007 #14 Share Posted March 7, 2007 Mike, we are on AOS with you. You are right about new bedding vs old bedding--I guess I would sleep on deck to get out of this snow and into the warm sunshine!!!
sunlover5 Posted March 7, 2007 #15 Share Posted March 7, 2007 The bedding is pretty bad. Ask for an eggcrate from your cabin steward, it really helps. Only bad thing about our cruise last week. The mattress was paper thin.:(

nanner10 Posted March 9, 2007 #24 Share Posted March 9, 2007 Is it easy to get an eggcrate? Is it something you can request ahead of time? I think you just ask when you arrive. I always just buy my own for less than $10 at Wally World. For ease in packing I buy a twin size and place it across our bed our heads and feet don't need the extra padding! I already have mine for our Adventure cruise 3/18, just in case our cabin has not been upgraded. I expect that this will be the last time I will have to bring an eggcrate along. The eggcrate toppers squish down to a fraction of their size. Plus, since I just leave it behind, I am sure to have a little extra space in my luggage for any purchases on our return trip home. I have had the new bedding a couple times now and it is great!!! I am pretty certain that they upgrade the sheets, duvets and pillows at the same time they replace the mattresses.
