mrscrab Posted March 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2007 Silver Cloud was in the port of Fremantle today (the nearest port to Perth) Oh dear the passengers have had to suffer 42C heat. We join her when she reaches Singapore so we are hoping for a less temperature and smooth seas.
meow! Posted March 7, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2007 If you live in Fremantle, try to visit Kailis seafood, perhaps you can get a pinctada maxima oyster and taste it, the type of oyster that Kailis Pearls use to culture south sea pearls. When we were there in 2001 on a land trip (by air), they happened not to have it (then it was known as Artisans of the Seas). Seafood in the Perth area is fresh out of the waters, and warm water seafood is m..m good! The wind close to the coast, however, was so strong that it nearly lifted us off our feet. Carillon City is a ten block walking shopping area, and you can have air conditioning inside, away from the heat.

mrscrab Posted March 11, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted March 11, 2007 After reporting the extremely hot weather for the Cloud in Fremantle she had to battle Cyclone George going up the West Australian coast. Would be interesting to hear from passengers on board how they dealt with the ordeal. SS would avoid and always try to avoid bad weather but some occasions the conditions have to be endured. Smooth Sailing when we join, we hope!
