Norwegian Dawn restaurants

Still trying to figure out the 'Freestyle' thing- is Tapas a snack only, like the name,or is it a Tex Mex restaurant?

Which restaurants on Dawn charge a fee? Thanks:)

I haven't been on the Dawn in a few years, but don't think it's changed. The tapas area is snacks and such. The mexican type restaurant is Salsa, and doesn't charge a cover but need reservations.

 

As for the 'Freestyle thing', you'll basically figure it out as you sail. Your freestyle that comes every evening will have a list of restaurants and whether you require a reservation and whether or not it is a surcharge restaurant. View the surcharge restaurants as just added options you may or may not take advantage of.

 

I can't think of a complete list, I'm sure you can get this info off their website or someone here will have one. As a new freestyle cruiser, you'll know more once you board whether you'd want to eat in the surcharge restaurants or not, but there's no need to overly worry about it too much before you go, there are plenty 'regular' free restaurants and places to eat.

Have you eaten at Salsa? If it's good I'd eat there every night,I LOVE Mexican food.

I really enjoyed Salsa on my last Dawn cruise. I thought the food was very good. Plus, its location overlooking the atrium is great for people-watching and listening to music (often performed in the atrium).

Thanks for the help- that makes it a lot clearer. It looked like there was a surcharge for almost all the restaurants.

I'll be happy between the no fee choices and maybe go to Trattoria for a change.

Salsa was very good a few years ago. Again, it's not a surcharge but need a reservation and we had the best waitress and a great time.

 

There's several threads on the surcharge restaurants. There's so many venues on the Dawn you really need two weeks to do them all. Have a great time!

Last summer DH and I were on the Dawn. We ate mostly in the Venetian but liked Impressions more once we got there. The Asian Fusion part of Bamboo was not very good IMHO. Le Bistro was okay. Terrible steak at Cagney's - again my own personal opinion for one experience. Loved Salsas.
