Bill,

Can't believe you were in here at sunrise!!!! As I mentioned to you briefly yesterday, have been under the weather for the past 4 days and hopefully will be up and about more now. Cindy and I will plan on being at the next CC get together here onboard. Anyway, it's good to see both you and Vicky again here on the Golden.

Curt :)

It's great to see you both back onboard...feels like HOME!

Well just got back from being ashore and also having lunch in the Dinning Room.

Firstly we left to go ashore just shortly before 10:00am and there wasn't a real big line for the tenders. However the weather was horrible this morning and this afternoon with heavy rains at times.

Once ashore, Sharon and Ramon and I went into various small gift stores to shop for some souvenir items. I ended up in the General Store (Grocery Store) having to buy $5.00 toothpaste as my souvenir of Stanley....I ran out this morning having not properly packed when I went home last cruise.

Once we decided we had had enough and decided to come back there were crowds of people at the pier like you wouldn't believe. There wasn't sufficient tenders IMHO today operating for some reason. We had to wait over 50 minutes in the cold and rain (as well as others) before we got back onboard.

Once onboard, Ramon and I decided to each take a hot shower and then head to the Donatello Dinning Room for a quick lunch as we knoew the Horizon Court would be a "Nut House" today with people coming back from ashore.

We ordered the Spring Rolls which were delicious and each ordered the Pork Milanese. I had a large bottle pf San Pelligrino and also the Frangiapani Torte Anglaise for dessert which was to die for.

Going to be going to the gym in hours time and then a quick power nap me thinks is in order for today.

We set sail tonight for Cape Horn at 6:00pm.

More to follow later today from the Golden Princess in Stanley.

ok, whats afaik?

the office?

Also has anyone checked if they will start limiting internet minutes in the middle of the next leg (April 1)? Or if they will not mess with those passengers already on.

Hope the weather continues to get better and better. Should really step away from this computer, but it IS addictive. I can't wait to see what the next post is and am disapointed when one is not there.:(

I did see lots of penguins on the Austrailian cruise (antartica).:D

Anyone play Panguini, rummy cube, bunco, donimoes, skipbo, uno? Not there will be that much extra time, and I will probably have to have down time recovering from all these tours that have been arranged. LOL This is "just in case" planning.

Well, I am going to walk away from the computer now. Talk to you all later.

OFFICE=CASINO=$$$$=MORE CRUISING!

For those of us in Transit on the next cruise either to Acapulco on April 5th or to SFO on April 12th; the new internet policy will not apply because that voyage either 5707A or 5707 will have bgun on March 20th and therefore we will all haveunlimited internet access.

Hi all -- great to see Tony and Arlene back on the boards

Tony -- this is to confirm the cookies were indeed closely cloned hockey pucks. As you recall -- I had one soaking in my coffee for over 20 minutes and upon removal it fell from the table and -- BOUNCED :) Carolyn would take several back to the cabin, beat upon them with a knife handle and then pick out the chocolate with her swiss army knife.!!!

However, Michael I agree with you the rest of the sweets stuff was really su per !!

We would appreciate it if one of you CC folks would say howdy from Earl and Carolyn to------

Curt and Cindy -- prior cruise team mates at trivia and other fun stuff

and Donna and Dennis -- also prior cruise pals and trivia team pals

Enjoy

Earl

My mistake. We were only on the one sector, Valparaiso to Fll. Yes, Earl was onboard, but he had also been on the previous sector having rounded the Horn before we boarded. There were many B2Bers.

I dont know how we missed you. Just dont remember you organising any private tours or joining in tours arranged by others or even chatting on the RC. And of course the M and M had around 28 there, mostly making themselves known to those they had arranged to tour with. And the main topic of conversation was the Arica accident as word of it was just reaching us that day.

Maybe next time.

The cookies are usually good on Princess.........

Well, there is no suburb called Calabash, as far as I know and I have lived here all my life. So maybe the second rumor is correct. I can hear him saying it now "goodnight, Mrs. Calabash, where ever you are" But then I was just a "little girl", really.

Hope all of you on board are enjoying yourselves, and thinking about those of us still yet to arrive.

Marianne

Well, I only know what I can Google. ;) I have been to Chicago a couple of times, but really don't know the area well at all. I'm actually a bit young know about Jimmy Durante's shows. I was just a kid when "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" came out and he "kicked the bucket". That was my first awareness of Jimmy Durante.

To get back on topic - Tony, is Joe May the port lecturer for the cruise?

Early and Carolyn......small world! You must have posted as I wrote.

"HI" to you both.

Just came on again because I forgot to say "thanks" to all who said "HI" to Donna and Denis.

Earl, Carolyn, Donna booked a private tour in Arica with JD, same tour, same lunch. Hope they have as good a day as we all enjoyed.

And we met up with "the MAKAIS" again in September when we docked in Newport (Sea P.) They took the day off work and very kindly gave us a super day out touring the beautiful coastal villages. The world gets smaller every year.

It seems their are trivia players out there. :) I have acquired a lot of Princess stuff (oops prizes) in my past cruises. If anyone has an opening on their team, I sure would like to sit in (especially the smart ones):D . I am sure you all know more than I do, with all of the cruises and games youv'e been a part of, but I enjoy it just the same.

Hello to all on the Golden and thanks so much for the wonderful reports. I am wondering if one of you might be able to do me a huge favor. I am thinking of taking this cruise next year with my son who would be 11 at the time. Might one of you get me a copy of the kids program schedule for that age group? I know it is not an area of the ship you would normally visit but it would be greatly appreciated. Have you seen any kids on the ship?

Jim ....yes Joe May is still onboard since I have been on here as of Oct 29th 2006 in Venice and did Egypt with us as well. His wife Nina has been travelling with him all winter onboard with us but left last cruise to go back to Brazil for a while.

You are right because I was onboard with Earl and Carolyn out of Buenos Aires on March 9th last year on the Regal Princess....maybe next time!

BTW, the cookies are usually great on ALL Princess ships!

Kim no problem...I'll stop by the Kids Center and speak to the "YAKS" and get a copy of the kids program for you as well and post some general activities on here.

Actually there approx. 15-20 kids on this cruise...not many and well behaved I must add as well.

Well we just left approx. 15 minutes ago an hour and 15 minutes behind schedule to several people coming back late from ashore in Stanley. It also took extra time for some reason to hoist up the last two tenders onto the ship.

Just going to be going to the Captains Quarters for pre-dinner cocktails and then off to dinner at 8:30pm tonight in Bernini Dinning Room.

As we are about to enter into open waters currently; I am looking outside the window in the internet cafe and it appears to be somewhat calm tonight. Let's hope it stays that way as there is a storm brewing off the tip of South America currently.

the plan for tonight is Food, Office and Bed at a half decent hour. I have been getting to that concrete slab every night after 1:00am and still waking up at the crack of dawn.

More to follow later today from the Golden Princess enroute to Cape Horn.

I think that's because you get the more experianced cruiser on an itinerary like this and the parents know better than to assume the cruise line will do their job for them but that's a topic for a different forum. Thanks for doing it!

Bill- No, I wasn't on the DUSTS cruise last year, although I've heard it was a wonderful trip. I wonder if the tour company can actually make that $200 stick if it wasn't in the contract when you signed up? I'd be very interested in finding out.

Curt and Cindy- Glad you're feeling better, it's got to be rough to be sick on vacation. Cindy...you've gotta get out there and win some luggage tags, make the old team proud! (Make some noise...)

Tony- I'm happy you're back on board and keeping us homebodies up to date on your travels. Thanks for feeding our habit!!

I take back the calm seas comment now....as we are heading into more open waters we are starting to pitch and roll a bit currently. The clouds outside also look pretty menacing as well.:(
