etoile Posted March 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2007 I am a vegetarian, I don't eat any sort of meat. I am sailing on the Pearl with my family in a couple of months, and I'd like them to be able to sample Cagney's Steakhouse. I know there is a $15 upcharge for that restaurant...do they have enough vegetarian offerings that it would be worth $15?? I am interested in their Sinful Chocolate Obsession dessert (from the CC review of the Pearl) but what if that is all I ate? I could catch dinner in the lido before my family is ready, and then join them in Cagney's Steakhouse for drinks and dessert...would they still charge $15 for that? Don Haynes Posted March 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2007 If you order anything from the speciality restaurant menu, including just dessert, you will have to pay the surcharge. No discounts. But if you order from the kids menu, it is free throughout the ship. Please search the recent Dawn menus posted recently. I am sure there is a vegetarian dish, or vegetables offered on the menu. I know there were quite a few vegetables but I don't think it would be worth the extra charge. You could however ask a family member to order an extra dessert and bring it to you. PRNole47 Posted March 8, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2007 I'm sure you can find something to order at Cagney's so that you can join your family at dinner, even if you simply leave the meat on the side...
Toyz711 Posted March 9, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2007 the veggies were great, we liked them so much..they brought us more. Asparagus was great! you are right, the chocolate was to die for. i would go...the onion soup is a beef stock base, but if i remember correctly..between the salads and such you should be able to eat there. besides, being with good company with good service..it'll be worth it. my niece wants to try some other sugar-free desserts, when she asked them about this..they went and got her some other flavors to try. just tell the matre 'd and he will work with you. Holg Posted March 9, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2007 If nature didn't want us to eat meat, why did it make animals so tasty?

mailbroad Posted March 9, 2007 #8 Share Posted March 9, 2007 when you get on the ship and get settled go to Cagney's (before they open) - the Maitre'd should be there. Tell them that you are vegetarian and would like to join your family for dinner... If "Laura" is the maitre'd tell her that Lisa G. from the vegetarian family on the Dawn and the Jewel said to help you out!!!!! :)
