Canakkale - has anyone been there? Suggestions to see...

HI!

 

My husband and I are trying to figure out just what the heck there is to see/do in Canakkale. We will be there in a Saturday (Sunday in Istanbul - Grand Bazzar closed) so I thought I might be able to do a little shopping....

 

Excursions offered:

Ancient Troy

Battlefields of Gallipoli

Canakkale & Archeological Museum (guided walking tour)

Panoramic Countryside (bus ride...)

 

If you have been here, could you please share your impressions of this port and what you would do again, or not do at all.

I will be in Canakkale in October. I am interested in any information too. I am wondering if it is possible to see both Troy and the museum. The ship will be in port fom 9 am -6 pm. I am planning to do it either by taxi or city bus not by tour if possible.
