carnival cabins to avoid

I had 1221. Yes, I stated all along that I wanted economy. Actually for the most part the cabin was fine. Obviously, the lowest deck you can get and only two cabins from the fore of the ship. It was very noisy when the waves banged against the ship on the nights it was rough (3). Also, whenever the anchor was being raised or dropped but that didn't last long. My friends in cabin 1217 said they could not sleep at all the last night because of all the banging below their cabin. They assumed it was luggage being tossed around. Nonetheless, I loved the Valor and will go again.

We were just assigned 6324 on the Liberty as our Bal Guar - we are mid ship but above the casino. Will we need earplugs? This is our first cruise so I have no idea what to expect. Thanks for any info.

no you will not need ear plugs- you should not get any noise from the casino.

Hi....just booked Room 7333 on Carnival Conquest. It is right across from an elevator...midship. Am wondering if it gets noisy?? Also, is there an ice machine there? Thanks for any answers!

there are no public access ice machines on the ships today. your cabin steward will give you ice twice daily- if youneed ice at other times during the day-- call room service and they will bring it to you.

that white area is the laundry room.

We stayed in 6443 on the liberty which was great access to the elevators. We heard nothing all week- it was great.

Serene56, is this something new? On the Triumph this year they had a public ice machine and soda machine in a room that was cleary marked. It was next door to cabin 2418. There was a window in the door and sodas were $1.25.

I've read recently on the boards that some ships have public ice/soda and some don't. Have all Carnival ships switched to no public access?

According to the hotel director on the Liberty (first week of sept) the public access ice machines were all taken out "recently" because of norwalk. Taking the ice machines out gives crew staff a handle on the passing around of norwalk.

Last february there were ice machines on Liberty- this August they were gone. There was an ice machine across from 6443.. (look on the deck plan and you can see the white area-- its now just a door.

Check for access since the end of the summer time.

One can get all the ice they want using room service.

Do you still have the soda vending machines or did they do away with those too?

In August/Sept I did not see a soda machine on the Liberty- Cant tell you about the ship you are sailing on.

I do know they got rid of bottles. you can no longer get the bigger bottle vs the smaller cans. Its a can or a glass of soda at the bars. Better for recycling.

how was this cabin? Freedom 7434? Thanks

it will be the same as the Liberty. I personally did not like the cabin. Felt I had more space in an aft cabin--including the balcony.

There is no sofa-- and we had to put the chair out of the way so we can walk around the cabin. the cabin has a lot more sq footage but a lot of that space is wasted.

We had an "L shaped" balcony on the Splendor for New Years, it was the worst cabin we have had to date. Not becuase of the shape but because of the terrible vibration when docking.

Seems like it shouldn't be a problem except for when you arrive in extra early and the whole ship shakes you so bad you have no choice but to get up. It shook things off the counter on to the floor.

It was unlike any vibration on a cruise that I have ever seen, the side thrusters seem to be differnet than other ships as we always have an aft cabin and have not had this much shaking.

Any experiences with Liberty 7397? I am thinking not since it is not already listed here.

I also did my research, I have cabins below, on top and to my left and right, so i should be good there. As a matter of fact, I could have had a Balcony on the underneath Lido deck near the back of the ship, but have heard many stories about the noise from the deck chairs being moved, so no thanks!.

so just wanted to see if anyone had any personal experience with this room...already tried google search and only found one review.

We're booked on the Valor sailing 3/22, in cabin 7442, pretty much under your cabin. Hopefully having the Verandah deck above us will deaden any noise. When we booked 7442, our PVP told us he had actually had that cabin and experienced no deck noise - but "hearing" is believing, right? Sorry to hear you had to deal with the noise on your cruise, though, hopefully your next one will be better!

Thanks so much. You have put my mind at ease. My family has booked both those aft corner rooms 6452 and 6483 on the Glory for Mar 13, 2011 sailing. We will make sure not to accept any so called upgrades. Sounds like those rooms will be perfect and noise-free to boot.

I searched this thread for Fantasy class Veranda Deck issues, but haven't seen anything untoward...

Are there any issues with a balcony cabin on the starboard side forward that a person should be aware of??

I know this is a old post, Wasnt sure if you sailed or not. I stayed in V-9 on the Fantasy. Its located directly below the female lockerroom area and is quiet. Balcony is small, room is nice. No hallway noise. I have V-6 booked on Inspiration for Nov. The forward Balconys can be seen from the bridgewings and stairs areas from main deck. At night people can see in if your lights are on and curtains open.

Cabin 6418 (balcony) on Glory is one. Directly over Bar Blue and the band played almost every night until midnight. Could also hear the applause and cheering of the audience.

6406 on Freedom. directly over the disco. unless you like your room to vibrate until wee hours of the morning, don't book this one or ones around it.
