Hello,

We would like to thanks everyone for all your excursion information which had been very helpful to us.

Nancy's parents, Michael's parents and the kids(6-year old & 8-year old), all 8 of us went to the 11-day Mexico cruise round trip from SF on 2/16/2007, had good time.

Here are the summary pictures of our cruise:

Acapulco:

We asked Rosie to give us a private tour, but she was booked, and her husband Arturo was available, so we reserved him as our tour guide. We have 6 adults and 2 kids, the big truck was a bit small for us, so that on the last row of seat, my husband and I and our two kids were there, a bit tight. We went to the fort first, then went to see the cliff diver, it was $7 per person instead of $3.5, probably due to the cruise. Just like other people mention before, similar to Rosie's tour, we went to many places, but did not get a chance to visit Rosie's father's house. We were planned to see the sunset in a hotel, but was a bit late, so we stopped by one place and watch sunset, then back to the ship. We met Rosie when we came out of the ship, and she was very warm and pleasant to talk to. Her Husband Arturo was a bit less personal, but he seems knows well as a tour guide. In Acapulco, it's good to have a tour instead of self tour.

Zihuatanzjo:

It's a tender port. We took it easy, and got off the ship around 9:30am, mis-communicate with my in laws, and they were not ready until 9am. Anyway, we did not plan any tour, we were thinking to visit Ixtapa, but we did not have enough time. So we just take it easy and walk around the beach and shops and took some pictures. People seems very nice in this small town. We all really liked this port.

Puerto Vallarta:

It's a tender port. We did not have special tour, and we took two taxi to town, pay $7 each taxi one way. For a total cost of $28, it's pretty low cost port. We requested the taxi taking us to the old town Church, and walked around the beach and visit many shops. Kids were hungry, and we went to the local Berger King which has similar price as USA, wondering how can locals kids visit their often. it was a fun and relax day for us, and kids prefered to go to the kids zone, since it's hot outside.

Mazatlan:

We arranged a private tour with Mazatlan Frank, but a few days before the cruise, we found out that the cruise changed it's itinerary, and Frank is not available after the itinerary changed. But we paid the deposite already, and decided to go with Frank's parner Tomatto who was very fun to be with. For 8 of us, we sat on a larger van, much more confortable than the one in Acapulco, also, Tomatto had a micro phone, we can hear very clear even in the last row of the seats. Tomatto took us to many places, we had very good time, please look at our pictures for more detail. We wen to a local market, got to see where local shops; also, we met a group of local kids, who were very friendly, and try to talk to us in English. We did buy quite a little things for friends and ourselves.

Cabo San Lucas

This is still our favorite port, this is our 3rd time here. We got off the ship around 8:30am, tendered, we was going to visit the town first, but stores in town won't open until 10am, some quite a few of the local tour gave us offer on the boat rides, we accepted one offer with $7 per person for 6 adults, and two kids are free. All four grandparents took the 45 minutes boat tour, and my husband and I and two kids got off the boat and landed to Lover's beach. Since it's early, there are very little people on the Lover's beach when we arrived, we walked around, and kids had great time playing with sands and waves, we was going to stay on the beach for 1 hour, but we had such a good time and decided to extend one more hour.

After that, we went back to the ship, had lunch and took showers and kids went to fun zoom and my husband and I tendered back to the town, and walked around. We went to the left end of the flea market, and did see some great catch of the day, and try to buy some gifts for friends, but stuff in Cabo was very expensive, we did not buy anything from this port.

Dawn Princess:

It's our 2nd time with Dawn Princess, we all enjoyed it very much. The service was excellent, the food was very good, the shows were fun to watch, kids had great time in kids zone, on the last sea day, the waves were very bad, a few of us were a bit sea sick. Other than that, we all had great time with Dawn Princess.

I really enjoy taking pictures for my kids. It's nice to do something different than dealing with transistors at work.
