Holiday - September 1, 2007

This will be my first solo cruise and I am looking to see if I am going to

be the only one on the Holiday on 9/1/07? Any other solos/singles

planning on this Labor day cruise?

I am single and will turn 49 while on the ship.....and thought it would

be a nice birthday gift to myself. I am thinking I will enjoy the alone

time that a solo cruise will offer, but wondering if I will be too shy

to mix and mingle as well. (Probably nothing a little Curvo Gold...chilled,

with salt and lemon could not cure! )

I really think my only reservation will be walking into the dining room alone to sit down at a table for dinner with people I have never met. I would just do the lido buffets, but I sure have enjoyed the dinners on previous cruises. I guess I will have to see if shyness or desire for good food wins

out. (I am a BIG girl...and the food may well win!):p

Definitely eat in the dining room. It's a good way to meet other people and somehow they serve as an anchor.

I agree, definitely eat in the dining room. I've sailed on the Holiday several times and have another one booked for May. One thing I like about the smaller ships is that for those traveling solo, I found it's easier to meet people as you tend to see the same people around the ship. Carnival is pretty good at seating the solo people together too at dinner so I feel pretty sure you'll have a great time! I also am a little nervous the first night going into the dining room sitting down with other strangers but I've found that a nice predinner cocktail sooths that transition. In your case a little Curvo Gold will probably do the trick. :D
