B&BREIK Posted March 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2007 When we booked with our TA they told us that we would receive a coupon book from Carnival that can be used on board the ship. When we made our final payment today we asked about the coupon book and our TA told us that Carnival will have it in our room when we arrive. Is this true ? DGP1111 Posted March 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2007 I know that some TAs have them at their agencies (supplied to them by Carnival) and they'll sometimes use them to help "seal the deal" for potential vacationers who aren't totally sure about booking a sailing. For some, one little freebie can do it. There are some PVPs who will also send them out, but not with regularity, since I believe that they (just like the TAs) have them in limited quantity to begin with. Your agent is probably telling you what they truly believe will happen, but I personally have never heard of coupon books being delivered to the room. That definitely doesn't mean you won't get it as promissed. Good Luck!! p.s. Few of the coupons are of any real value (mostly creating a 'gift with purchase' situation)
CruisinMama7 Posted March 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2007 I received my Carnival coupon book with my travel docs - mailed to me by my TA. And I agree with DGP1111...most of the coupons are really worthless.:( At most, I may only use one or two coupons. But, it is better than a poke in the eye! :p

andychris Posted March 14, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 14, 2007 What are the types of coupons in this book? My TA never offered them.
USA41018 Posted March 14, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 14, 2007 I believe that these are for past guests. We have had them in our cabin when we first arrived. Basically, you get a coupon for 1 cocktail when another is purchased. You get photo discounts, spa discounts, match play in the casino, etc. Only have found 1 or 2 of them useful. Cotton Posted March 14, 2007 #7 Share Posted March 14, 2007 I don't think being a past guest has anything to do with the coupon books. I've been PG many times, and never had one in my cabin. I've seen one that another passenger had. It's just a comeon...It's like buy one, get one free. One is 10 percent off items in the gift shop. One is half price drink when you buy a full price drink. Another is half price off golf lesson. etc etc etc Certainly no biggie if you don't have the coupon book.;)
suziehmkr Posted March 14, 2007 #8 Share Posted March 14, 2007 We got a coupon book when we listened to the Club Carnival presentation. We then went to the casino to purchase my slot tournament entry. What I didnt' know what there was a coupon for a 2nd entry in the book.... we hadn't even flipped thru the book at that point. But they saw the book and took it for me. Most of the other coupons were for wine, but we also used the martini one.... and a couple of others. But not remembering which ones. While it wasn't LOADED with good deals, we probably used coupons equal to about $40 in value. Better than nothing, really! Did your TA put this in an email? If so, I would take it with me just in case it isn't there.

shebring02lx Posted March 14, 2007 #11 Share Posted March 14, 2007 I got mine before mine was even paid for. I have a great PVP! Anyway, the coupon book kind of is worthless.. "Pre-order 4 bottles of wine, 5th one free" "10% off any bottle of wine at wine and cheese tasting session" "Buy one bottle of wine 2nd one 10% off" "Purchase carnival logo shirt receive 15% off second" "Complimentary plate of Chocolate Delights with purchase of $45 bottle of champagne" "Purchase a smoothie and receive 2nd free!" - may use this one "Receive a free carnival souvenir glass" - may use this one "Free cookbook with purchase of another cookbook" " Free $5 play chip from casino" "Receive a Grande coffee for the price of a Tall" As you can tell unless you are a big wine fan... half the coupons are not even something I personally would use! :)
pshhi2016 Posted September 7, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 7, 2018 "Carnival Fun Finds" Coupon Book can always be purchased on-board for $25 with over $2000 in deals. Available from your on-board "Shopping Expert" at the weekly port talk or at their desk. Most agencies do not stock them as they do expire. Also as they are not(n) free they won't just show up in your stateroom. Not sure why you were told otherwise.

kicia Posted September 7, 2018 #14 Share Posted September 7, 2018 Those are 2 different books. The one you buy is for use in the ports. The free one is for use on the ship. Never gotten either.
