WindStar: Sept 1 Istanbul to Athens

Hi. We are 90% sure that we want to take this cruise. Travel Agent is holding a cabin.

We are excited about traveling on this small ship!:)

I have read concerns about the change in ownership of the company.

Any thoughts about the change?

Customer service and reputation is what it is all about, right?

I suspect that you will only see minor, if any, changes by the first of September. They already have contracts in place for shore excursions and most of the crew will probably be under the same contracts that they have now.

I did this same cruise in 2005 and it was fantastic. As long as you go this year, I say go for it. Next year would be an entirely different story as you can expect some changes by then. Also, you'll probably get a much lower rate by going this year. By the way, I highly recommend coming to Istanbul a few days early. It's a wonderful city, really facinating.

Hi, we are sailing on the Windstar, 1 Sept, Istanbul-Athens and will have a few days before in the city. Sense this is our first trip w/Windstar, any suggestions we might need to know to make the trip better would be appreciated.

Also we wondered if our few extra days in Istanbul would be best spend seeing things on our own or having a guide? You suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
