manmtnmike Posted March 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2007 As a religious weightlifter/fitness nut, I apparently came down with a condition known as, "I'm bummed 'cause my cruise is over malaise." Anyone else have this occur? Only cure : Schedule another motivational cruise! MMMike

CaribbeanCrush Posted May 2, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2007 I know the feeling. Unfortunately, our next cruise probably won't be 'til Daughters wedding cruise in Dec. '08. My motivation now is remembering how much work it took to get where I'm at. I don't want to go through that again.
ski ninja Posted September 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2007 The only motivation I usually need to get back on the treadmill is stepping on the scale after the cruise is over. Although planning another trip doesn't hurt. hehe
hi2you Posted April 12, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2008 I have come to the realization that I just have to do it. Last cruise, I didn't get in to the gym right away. It was as if my motivation was gone-after all the cruise was over-when would I be going on another. Well, another is coming up, and I decided this time, the first day back to work, I will be in the gym in the morning, hopefully sporting a spiffy, cruise theme related tshirt to enjoy the memory. This time I know there will be another vacation-I don't know when but I know the possibility is there. Easy for me to say now at this moment. barryod Posted April 14, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 14, 2008 I do not adjust my work-outs when I cruise. I did that once and coupled with the fact that the cruise was over, it was hard getting back into it. I also stopped living the cruise before I take it and that has helped the post cruise blues. Also booking the next cruise while on board helps.:D Barry
nikkicattrell Posted May 14, 2008 #7 Share Posted May 14, 2008 Have a half marathon scheduled three weeks after the cruise finishes.. so no let up either before, on or after cruise!
CaribbeanCrush Posted May 15, 2008 #8 Share Posted May 15, 2008 Our next cruise is over 200 days away. I need to find the motivation again soon. But, what will probably happen is that I'll wait 'til a month before the cruise and then kill myself to get into swimsuit shape.
slrmerc73 Posted June 24, 2008 #9 Share Posted June 24, 2008 I usually workout like crazy right before a cruise (or any vacation for that matter). Then I just take it easy and relax during my cruise. Yeah, I do agree it's always a bummer when the cruise ends and you have to go back to normal everyday life but, believe it or not, I've had some of my best workouts right after a cruise. Maybe it's because I'm well-rested and carbo-loaded :)
