Rare steamboats Posted May 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 3, 2007 Brenda, I saw the Shuttle Information Desk in the baggage claim area but there was noone there. I know they are operating but they might be short of staff to man the counter. I´m sure you´ll find them outside waiting for customers. BTW we´ve been to the WalMart on Tchoupitoulas. There were long lines at the registers. Only 3 of them were open. Our friend asked what´s going on and was told that 3 or 4 employees didn´t come to work that day. Under normal circumstances they would have been fired for that. But they do not have a choice as they wouldn´t find anyone else to hire. steamboats
BrendaB1 Posted May 3, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted May 3, 2007 Yes, there is still a shortage of employees there because of lack of affordable housing but it seems to be improving each time I visit. I've used the shuttle several times since Katrina & never had a problem getting to the FQ in a timely manner.
