I think you will be fine.

I was in P328 Sapphire Princess which has the same basic ship plan especially for those cabins under the casino.

I too was a little worried, BUT, only heard a noise two times! Both times a vacuum cleaner for a few moments.

I was amazed we couldn't hear the casino noises, but as the earlier poster commented, the casino is not noisy like a Las Vegas type casino. Not all of those constant dinking noises, bands, loud music, etc.

Actually as far as noise, it was my quietest cabin in 5 voyages.

See http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=525874 for more comments on the plaza deck. Many people like that deck.

Thanks for the casino info. We had visions clinking coins and ringing bells all night long. Sounds like it will be just fine, we don't spend much time in the cabin (sleeping and changing clothes!). Looking forward to Alaska!

No experience under the casino...BUT on a Golden Princess cruise a couple of years ago we did have a cabin directly over the Explorers Lounge and we got noise and vibration from the bands and music until quite late. For the first couple of night we couldn't figure out if it was the people in the cabins around us, but then figured out it was from the Explorer's Lounge. Beware of Deck 8!

As far as the casino goes, it all depends on the cruise and how many gamblers there are. I have not been on any where the casino ever gets all that loud. I think as other have stated that the lounges create more noise. Also, be careful with cabins under the Aloha deck (on most ships) on the open deck by the buffet. My wife and I found out the hard way that chairs slidding on the deck can be heard all too well.
