Wennfred Posted April 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2007 Is the time posted for carnival excursions on ship time or local time?. Ships time. Always use ship time for everything. The Locals know we are using Ships time.

PelicanBill Posted April 1, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2007 The locals can make mistakes too... even with a ship's tour it's a good idea to know what time zone your port is on compared to ship time. http://www.timezoneconverter.com For example, it's the same time in Florida as it is in Dominica today, because we are on Daylight Savings time. But in December, when we are on standard time, then Dominica and most of the Caribbean is one hour later than the east coast. You can be sure the locals can't keep track of when the US changes to DST and back this year!

Setting the time onboard is the Captains perogative.
