We will be docking in Santo Tomas in April & have booked the Countryside & Rio Dulce by land with the ship. They recommend wearing long pants & long sleeve shirts, or bring insect repellant. Has anyone done this tour if so was it buggy. Thanks to anyone who might have any info.

I havent heard much about Santo Thomas either, so I for sure wanted to do an excursion & not venture out on my own. The description says we go on a bus ride & see lots of lush tropical vegetation. Then we also take a short boat ride to Castillo de San Felipe for an inside visit. We'll be there in less than 2 weeks, so I will post when I return!

Just did a tour with Gus last week with my wife and 4 kids. It was incredible. We wre very moved by all we saw that day. You cannot go wrong with this tour at $75/adults 55/ 14 and under.
