Rosetune Posted April 2, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2007 Does anyone know if Mariner serves complimentary cappuccino in the dining room? If not free, how much is the cost?

kathyanddick Posted April 2, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2007 I do not know of any of the cruises that I have been on that will bring a cappacino to you in the dining room, cost or no cost. You can go get it and bring it in with you. I have done that on other things that I wanted in the dining room and either could not get or could not get fast enough for me. Like drinks. I usually stop at one of the bars just before going in to the dining room and get the drink I want and take in with me. That way, I do not have to wait for the bar person to come around and take our order and then wait for him to come back with it. That can be a while. I like scotch on the rocks and by the time they get back it is just scotch and water, no rocks. Just my personal preference. You can do that with beer also. kathyanddick
addictedinflorida Posted April 2, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 2, 2007 Unfortunately its not free, but you can get it. I just always ordered it from the assistant waiter when they come around asking if anyone would like coffee with dessert. Have never had to wait for bar staff and once I order, its always delivered within a few minutes.
RoosterSharkey Posted April 2, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 2, 2007 ...on the NCL Spirit last year, at no extra charge. Good thing too, 'cause the regular coffee was...how should I say...G-D AWFUL !!! Everything else was quite good, but that java....Oh boy! Tha cap wasn't great either, but at least you could drink it. How's the regular coffee on RCL? We'll be on the AOS in July. addictedinflorida Posted April 2, 2007 #8 Share Posted April 2, 2007 Strong and bitter! At least on the Mariner it was. I pretty much stuck with cappucino and stopping at the coffee bar on the promenade as much as possible LOL Not enough cream or sugar on the ship to sweeten that coffee! mdmourges Posted April 3, 2007 #9 Share Posted April 3, 2007 They have an automated cap machine in the concierge room. Free if you have access. Very strong! Mmmmmm good! Mark
Cruise Passenger Posted April 3, 2007 #10 Share Posted April 3, 2007 First time on RCL coming up and was also wondering if they have free cappuccino in dining room. Carnival does have free cappuccino in the dining room. You have to ask, they don't offer it.
lephysteria Posted April 3, 2007 #11 Share Posted April 3, 2007 I've had free cappuccino in the CCL dining rooms, but on RCCL you have to pay for it. Upon learning this, I asked for a hot chocolate :) Yummy!
TravlGrl Posted April 3, 2007 #12 Share Posted April 3, 2007 I had a cappucino or latte almost every night as my post-dinner drink in the dining room and paid $3.16 each time.
QM2 Cruiser Posted April 3, 2007 #13 Share Posted April 3, 2007 It's free on Cunard too, I wonder why Royal Caribbean charges for it.
AFT_LOVER Posted April 3, 2007 #14 Share Posted April 3, 2007 for Diamond, Diamond Plus & GS+ occupants in the Concierge Lounge. Other than that you pay!
webecruzin2 Posted April 3, 2007 #15 Share Posted April 3, 2007 I,too love a cappucino after dinner when cruising. If I remember correctly NCL offers these with no charge and maybe Celebrity, as well. Although I think it's strange for NCL to offer anything with no charge, they seem to like to nickle and dime you to death. IMHO
2ladies Posted April 3, 2007 #16 Share Posted April 3, 2007 On Princess it used to be free in the Dining Room - until Carnival took over - within 3 months, it was no longer free!!
VampyBuff Posted August 28, 2007 #17 Share Posted August 28, 2007 NCL offers it with no charge after dinner, I'd been hoping it'd be the same for RCCL =(
Nymue Posted August 28, 2007 #18 Share Posted August 28, 2007 How are the lattes? I had a cappucino or latte almost every night as my post-dinner drink in the dining room and paid $3.16 each time.
ken_nyc Posted August 28, 2007 #19 Share Posted August 28, 2007 We were just on the Mariner a couple of weeks ago and the cappucino was including automatic tip for two was $6.33. Every night we had one. Our first Carnival cruise on the Pride, it was free but not our last one three years ago on the Glory.
Royalpair Posted August 28, 2007 #20 Share Posted August 28, 2007 It was free on HAL's Veendam in Feb. By the end of the week, I had two others at the table drinking it, too. All I had to do was ask once, and from then on, they brought it to me every night.
Starbright Posted August 28, 2007 #21 Share Posted August 28, 2007 Holland America serve free capuccino in the dining room. I had it every night of our 21 day cruise last year and it was delicious. I don't think I'll be paying for it on RCI - I think it's just mean to charge extra. I'll stick with ordinary coffee or go without!
Saracruise Posted August 28, 2007 #22 Share Posted August 28, 2007 Last year on the Freedom we were never charged for our Cafe Mocha's after dinner, when on the Vision in May we were charged. I paid the few dollars but it just baffled me why did I have to pay on one ship and not the other.
CruiseAwayWithMe Posted August 28, 2007 #23 Share Posted August 28, 2007 They asked if we wanted anything for after dinner on Liberty of the Seas. We said two cappuccinos and they said that they were going to charge us. Decided we didn't want them but yes, they were going to charge us. We don't really need it because we had the concierge lounge. It is free to make all the drinks you want in the morning. Just baffled us that they charge for a cappuccino in the dining room. Didn't matter because we got them for free in the concierge lounge. :)
mom2bcr Posted August 28, 2007 #24 Share Posted August 28, 2007 Our first Carnival cruise on the Pride, it was free but not our last one three years ago on the Glory. That's odd... We just were on the Glory at the beginning of August...I had one every night after dinner in the dining room at no charge. I guess they are offering it again! :)
