mr green Posted April 2, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2007 When booking, my cabin # must add up to 11 AND my "mr & mrs caribbean clothed monkeys" must tag along to greet me everytime I enter my cabin. I know that most of us from B.C. [better Cruisers] are slightly nuts, but the cabin number adding up to eleven is ridiculous. Our # is the same as the last one we had, so maybe we will know where we are going!:) We normally wear luggage tags however, so, if we do get lost a staff member should carry us back to our room. john
slotl Posted April 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 3, 2007 I always pack: An electric strip for "extra" electric plugs. Telephone, camera, camcorders all need to be recharged and the one electric plug in the room is never enough. Bubble wrap, tape, scissors. I never know when I might purchase something breakable. Also, with the new airlines rules about carryon liquids, you must now pack all bottles in your luggage. Using the bubble wrap, nothing has ever been broken (but make sure the top is tightly sealed to avoid leakage). Balloons (and string). How to find my room. If you have been on the larger ships, the hallways are looooong. The balloons help me visually locate my room from afar. Cheap (one use) rain ponchos from Kmart and WalMart. You can find them in the sports department and the cost is about $.75 to one dollar. Put the rain poncho in your camera bag and it will always be available. Throw away after using.
