Joanandjoe Posted April 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2007 We're arriving in Amsterdam on April 14, the day before our cruise, and the cruise line's transfers were not available to us because we just booked last week. We're a bit intimidated by transportation. We seem to be unable to pack lightly, so we'll probably have three suitcases. We're sent emails to a few limo companies regarding transportation to and from Schiphol, but have not had any responses. Can one reasonably take the train into Amsterdam with that much luggage? Assuming we do get there by train, how much should a taxi cost to the Vondel park area? If a train won't work, can anyone recommend a shuttle or tour company that will actually respond to our inquiries?
Rare HeinBloed Posted April 3, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2007 Hello, just take a shared taxi (Schiphol Travel Taxi): http://www.schiphol.nl There you find a link to the English website (top/right) - and then a link to the Schiphol Travel Taxi (bottom/left). We used it and it worked well. Regards, HeinBloed
Bill S Posted April 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 3, 2007 JoanandJoe: no need to worry! There are vans you can use right outside the terminal. We have used them twice upon arrival at Schipol. They are much easier to use than the train if you are dealing with luggage and they will take you right to your hotel. Be sure to tell the reps at the curb your hotel so they will direct you to the correct van/shuttle service. I forget how many Euros they cost, but we felt it was worth it for the convenience. Schipol is a fabulous facility. Have a great cruise!
