wvdleek Posted April 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2007 De Rotterdam BV (shipowners) have made public that the s.s. Rotterdam will be open to the public as of 31 March 2008. Mr. Elemans (manager) expects that the ship will be towed to Rotterdam between half December and half January. The remaining period will be needed to put the ship into operation. Atomica Posted April 4, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 4, 2007 I'm glad to see that the SS Rotterdam is being preserved so nicely. I can remember looking at deckplans of her when my Grandma gave me an Alaska cruise brochure when I was a kid. It's nice to know I can go to Rotterdam and see...the Rotterdam! RuthC Posted April 4, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 4, 2007 I'm grateful for the news, and even more grateful that this beautiful ship has been saved. Thank you for the update. I'm only sorry that the E-dam Inaugural has been switched to Copenhagen from the original Rotterdam plan. :( Ah, well, an excuse to return another day. :)
