celebrities on board ?

I'm of the mind that celebrities need their down time so if I encounter them I just smile and keep going so as not to disturb them.

I am 47 years old and have NEVER met/seen any kind of celebrity anywhere (other than on the field or where they are "supposed" to be). I wonder is my life that boring or am I oblivious to my surroundings.

True..I am also oblivious to my surroundings.

However, my kids are great at pointing celebs;)

On the Norway, we were on with Ann Murray and Richard Simmons. They were filming a TV special.

We also sat on a tender with Yakoff Smirnoff (sp?). He had performed on the ship. He was very friendly.

Another time we were on a ship with Ollie North.

Last summer, we were on a ship with George Foreman. He was really nice. He walked around in the casino and was shaking hands with everyone. I didn't even realize who he was until someone called him by name.

I was on the NCL Dreamward in 1994 for their NFL themed Cruise. Lots of players, coaches, officials etc. I recognized one guy from The Longest Yard film (the oringinal one with Burt Reynolds) and asked for an autograph. He was Ray Nitchkie (sp?) from the Green Bay Packers-big time record holder-Hall of Famer etc. I didn't know about his football career-I only knew him from the football scenes in the movie(rather embarrassing scenes at that) Ray was very nice and gave me an autograph. Later in the week I saw him by the pool and appologized for NOT knowing about his NFL career-only his 'film career'. He had a big laugh about it! We took a picture together and he asked if I thought he should continue in show business!

I heard Elliot Mintz has 10 cabins booked on the may 4th or 5th 1 day dawn cruise. Does his name not ring a bell? Maybe his client PARIS hilton does? I dont know if thats her but her publicist is so maybe thats a sign?? ;)

I couldn't imagine her sailing in anything less than the GV. And her publicist is one heck of a man to make her into what she is, which I still can't figure out what that is. So that man is a genius.

No sightings by me, but my brother was on the Carnival Liberty last year and met Howie Mandel, who was cruising with his family. My brother talked to him in the casino and said he was very friendly and nice.

My brother sailed last year with Victoria Gotti of the Gotti Family/TV show. She was put off at the first port for her behavior.:D

On the Pearl 3/2/07 cruise Jeff Trachta did a show one evening. He was "Thorne Forrester" on the Bold and Beautiful soap for 6 or 8 years, and is currently performing at the Rio in Vegas. Next day he did a Q&A show. He was really nice. Said he does cruise shows several times a year now. Bought his CD of songs and impersonations, and got his autograph, but didn't see him around the ship any, or darn!

Hi Hannah's DAD, you are quite the celebrity yourself! I've missed seeing your shows lately, any chance you'll be performing on the new GEM when she comes out?

Hope Hannah is doing well in school.:)

I have been on quite a few cruises and have yet seen or heard of a celebrity onboard. Maybe this time since we are cruising out of LA. What celebrity would you like to see on board? Donald TrumP??!! I would love to see how his "hair" held up in the wind!!!:D

Hi NCL_Cruiser and immargaret,

I just left the Star this past Friday to spend Easter with Hannah and Lori. I'm off to join the Jewel for the Summer in Europe and will rejoin the Star for Mexico in September. Hannah loves school and her teacher used to be a Youth Councilor for NCL...how cool!

Simon Murray is the Cruise Dircetor on the GEM and it should be an awesome season for them in Alaska.

Shawn Farquhar

all around nice guy

;) ;) I was lucky to see all these famous people on the Dawn 4/1/07 trip:

Tom Jones

Paul Anka

Henry Wiinkler

Sammy Davis Jr.

and my favorite, Barney Rubble (what an actor!).

Good luck on your venture!

Has anyone ever seen a celebrity on board on any NCL cruises?
