Which Amsterdam Canal cruiseshould I do?

Recommended Posts

Opposite Centraal Station you will find canalcruises by Holland International, which I usually take when I have guests. Also Lovers is next to them.

Another one of my favorites is Rederij Kooy, that leaves from Rokin.

All of them in business for many years.

Most have recorded guides on board, so the same info will be given in various languages. In the old days a "live"guide was on board, which I think was nicer.

How do I get there from the port?

You can walk (about 12-15 minutes) or taking the tram 25/26 to Central Station (one stop):

This picture is made from the front of the Amsterdam Passenger Terminal (Cruise Terminal).

If you just turn to the right and stay on the right walkway until you reach the with round roof on the right of the picture. That's the back entrance to Central Station. The ships and ticket offices start from the front side of the Central Station terminal.

If you like to take the tram: right and across the street. Then you have 10 per hour.

If you turn left to the terminal station of tram 25 you have only 4 per hour.
