Rare blueslily Posted November 15, 2009 #51 Share Posted November 15, 2009 Has anyone had Russell from Serenity as your guide? What was he like? P.S. I have called Serenity at all hours of the day, weekday and weekends. They ALWAYS answers and John is as cheery as can be. Just call them. They will work with you. 13yranncruise Posted November 16, 2009 #52 Share Posted November 16, 2009 Just wanted to add that I've also found John and Carol to be very responsive with any of my inquiries. They've called back quickly if I've left a message and emails have been answered within 24 hours each time. They were very helpful even when I had to change dates twice. The price given to us for a private couples tour was $250 for next year which looks to be the same or similar to what others have posted.
V and S Posted November 20, 2009 #53 Share Posted November 20, 2009 We got one garbled phone message which was unintelligible :) , and then a perfectly understandable one this morning. They quoted us a price of $270--apparently one of the charges they must pay to enter one of the sites has gone up $20 or something like that. We are going to call them in the morning. It was John who left the message, and he sounded concerned about the lost email and very professional.

That's one thing with Serenity they do call if you up once you leave a number, they are very professional you can't go wrong. The prices probably increased because I read on one of the forums that the volcano prices went up. Be sure to ask questions when you next communicate via phone. katron Posted November 23, 2009 #55 Share Posted November 23, 2009 Has anyone had Russell from Serenity as your guide? What was he like? We just returned from a Celebrity cruise with a stop in St. Lucia, and had pre-booked a Serenity Tour of the Island. My husband and I were met at the dock by Sherma and John! Unfortunately (for them) we were the only confirmed passengers for the Tour. NO PROBLEM!!!!!! We were escorted to a large, modern, clean Toyota touring van (big enough for about 8-12 people), and introduced to RUSSELL! We ended up with a private tour---Russell, my husband and me!!! Russell was the best tour guide we have ever had, and we've cruised at least 30 times and had ship, private and "off the street" tours at various ports. Russell is extremely bright, knowledgeable, easy to understand and very friendly and kind. He lived in the US for 12 years and graduated from the University of Iowa. He drove us around the Island, explaining the history. The tour included admission to the falls, the volcano and lunch at the Beacon Restaurant (with a great view of the Piton Peaks). The lunch was a small buffet, set up for just us, and included chicken, tuna fingers, baked macaroni and cheese, and several assorted local dishes including a delicious breadfruit salad! Russell also had a cooler filled with assorted drinks, including water, rum punch, and Piton beer for our use. I understand that John and Sherma are excellent guides also. Serenity is a small company with John, Sherma and Russell giving the tours! We had a wonderful day of Touring that lasted about 7 hours. We really knew the Island and it's history by the time we said goodbye. If you are fortunate enough to have Russell as your tour guide, please tell him that Ron and Kathy said Hello!!!!! 4sisters Posted December 1, 2009 #56 Share Posted December 1, 2009 Well, my husband and our 24 & 21 yr old sons and I did the Rocket Adventure (included the zip line) and had a blast! We were in St. Lucia Wednesday of last week, John met us at the pier and off we went to do the zip line. I can't tell you how much all 4 of us enjoyed that. Then the rest of the day was spent seeing this beautiful island and tasting the local foods - which is unbelievable and drinking plenty of local Piton Beer. This trip is definitely worth the money and I can't wait to go back to St. Lucia and call John up for another tour.
Rare blueslily Posted December 17, 2009 #57 Share Posted December 17, 2009 Hi all, I'm on the Victory now so it must be a big deal if I'm writing (Internet is expensive on the ship). We (my family of 8) just spent an awesome day with Serenity care of Russell and his wife. They were wonderful guides. Very informative, warm, great personalities, and just all around wonderful folks to spend a full day with. John - hmmm, are you reading this...thanks so much for making today a great first visit for my family. This was my 3rd visit to St. Lucia (my favorite island in the West Indies) and now my family loves it as well. Note to all CC folks - you'll definitely be in good hands with John, Caroline, Sharma, Russell and his wife and all the Serenity family. I'll post a full review when I'm back in the states (sometime next week or after the holiday rush next weekend). Happy traveling and holidays to all!! :)

Hi there, Happy you guys had a great time with Serenity. One thing with Serenity they really do try to make you taste the island cuisine. Last time we toured we did the ziplines and beach and had such a great time with them. We really want to do the island tour next time to taste all the goodies that we have been reading about like the creole bread, cassava bread, coconut cakes, fish cakes and locally made juices. You just can't go wrong with Serenity.....if things go bad it was just not meant to be.

sailingaway12 Posted January 15, 2010 #61 Share Posted January 15, 2010 did you get to go to jalouise beach by the pitons? Maybe if you make a special request they can take you there but I think the beach they mainly use is Anse Coochon.

Actually, YES, Serenity took us there. I was going to be married there a few years ago so I certainly wanted to make a quick visit. Again, a private tour is the way to go. John and all the staff are excellent. Their love for their island is so genuine. And, their kindness is very genuine.
naysmitj Posted March 13, 2010 #64 Share Posted March 13, 2010 We used Serenity Tours in February while cruising on the Carnival Victory for the rain forest gondola and the ziplining. Great tour organization to deal with. Very friendly and 1st class treatment for less than the cost of the same tour through Carnival. Blueyes41 Posted April 26, 2010 #68 Share Posted April 26, 2010 I 'm new to this forum and may ask some dumb questions (I hope not). Is lunch included on these tours?
AllenF Posted April 26, 2010 #69 Share Posted April 26, 2010 Some do include lunch or snacks. When you decide which tour you would like to do just call and ask to find out for sure if lunch is included. 1866 766 0794

My husband and I are looking into an excursion for our St.Lucia itenery but has not yet decided on whom we should use or do. Whatever happens we would like to have lunch at a local restaurant. St.lucia is a place we have always longed to visit and we would love to do as much as we possibly can while we are there.
AllenF Posted April 30, 2010 #71 Share Posted April 30, 2010 We are going back to spend a week on St Lucia in July with the folks (john and caroline) of Serenity if you have any questions or request just ask them and they will do their best to make your excursion exactly what you want. Blueyes41 Posted May 4, 2010 #72 Share Posted May 4, 2010 Allen we called the toll free number and had a wondeful chat with John. Serenity seem to be very efficient and on the ball with our back and forth emails. It's going to be our 10th wedding anniversay on the day we will be in St.lucia and after speaking with John decided on the totally Private Couples island tour to include lunch at Ladera, where the "Bachelor" was filmed. We are so excited.

llund Posted May 23, 2010 #74 Share Posted May 23, 2010 I am glad to read all the good reviews about Serenity. I e-mailed them last week and haven't heard back. Usually, I don't take that as a good sign but with I think I will give them a call after reading all the recommendations. Are they slow to respond to e-mails? styxscottii Posted May 23, 2010 #75 Share Posted May 23, 2010 Sometimes email in the islands is out a few days. I'd call them at their toll free number and talk to John, he answered all our questions before we boooked 1 866 766 0794
