bjcourt Posted April 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2007 Just checking to see if anybody will be leaving on the Grand Princess out of Galveston on April 28, 2007 for the Mediterranean region (28 day cruise). We are retired teachers, and will be making our first cruise to Europe! We have been cruising in the caribbean 15 times, and know that region very well, but are unfamiliar with this area! Any help, or tips will be grately appreciated! Thanks!:)
longislandfamily Posted April 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2007 There are indeed many people chatting on this forum who are going on the 4/28 transatlantic cruise. Search form them on the Roll Call forum for Princess, then by ship, then by date. This link might work, too. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=359982
Rare Hlitner Posted April 6, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 6, 2007 We did this cruise last year (it was 19 days) and loved every relaxing moment. It actually took us 9 days to get from Galvaston to Madeira (our stop in Ft Lauderdale was only 3 hours and we were not permitted off the ship) and we were so relaxed after that many days at sea that we felt like vegetables. We did fly into Houston one day early and rented a car from Enterprise at the airport which we dropped in Galvaston (they had free shuttle service to the ship). That rental car turned out to be a great deal as it only cost us $28 and allowed us to explore Galvaston before the cruise. You will love your cruise.
