Seapass bill question

Recommended Posts

Okay I know this sounds silly but... I will using my credit card for the first time on my upcoming cruise. When do you pay for the stuff you racked up while on the cruise? Before getting off? Do they send you a bill? My dad usually does this, but he isn't going, and claims not to remember (short term memory I guess, he can't remember last October:rolleyes: ). Are there other options for paying for your purchases while on the ship?

You will pay for everything before you leave the ship. As you use your SeaPass card throughout your cruise, items are immediately charged to your credit card. Then, on your last night, you'll have the opportunity to review your account (or any day, for that matter...by viewing your account in your stateroom's television) and adjust anything (such as your tips). At the point when you debark, your balance will be zero and your credit card will be charged in full.

Setting up your seapass (onboard) account with a credit card is the easiest way in my eyes.

Onboard you can´t use cash (with exception of the casino), so all charges will go to your seapass account.

You can review your charges on many ships through the interactive TV in your room and of course you can go to the pursers desk anytime to get a printed statement.

On the last morning (debarkation day) you get a printed statement delivered to your stateroom. If it´s OK you are all set and the amount will be charged to your credit card, no need to take any other action. If there´s any discrepancy you have to go to the pursers desk to get it sorted out. Note there is a deadline for doing that (it´s in the cruise compass) and do it while onboard, don´t wait until back on land to fight any charges on your bill!!!!

Best thing is to check from time to time so if there´s any wrong charges on your bill it´s better to fight them immediately than waiting for the last morning when the lines at pursers desk are long.

From what I can see, it's not charged immediately. Possibly they put a *hold on your card for like $500. Then at the end you are actually charged one lump sum on your credit card.
