Sunset beach vs Rose hall beach??

Will be in Montego bay Jamacia in July. Noticed Rose hall beach excursion thru Carnival. Have a family of five with 3 teenagers so beach with water park and drinks with food included sounds great. Then I saw several reviews of Sunset Beach which sounds like has the same thing but half the price and is closer. Anyone have reviews for both? pros and cons Thanks

We are cruising in June on the Conquest. We have 2 kids with us and are also trying to decide between Carnival's excursion to Rose Hall vs privately going to Sunset Beach. Please advise!!

We were on the Conquest 3/25-4/1. We went to Sunset Beach. We had a great time! I was there with my 20yr Daughter, 7yr son, 2 yr grandson.

 

I felt like we got our money's worth ($100) for the 4 of us (2yr free). After we came out of the terminal, a man asked if we needed a taxi. He got us a driver to take us to Sunset Beach. He dropped us off at the front gate ($8.00 + we gave $2 tip). We walked up to the front desk, paid by credit card and got 4 towel vouchers.

 

We found chairs on the beach and spent most of the morning there. My daughter went and got our towels. We started gettting drinks as soon as we got there. Bring your own bigger cups as their's are pretty small. Just before lunch we went to the water park.

 

Had lunch. It was OK, I had food from the buffet and the kids all got food from the outside grill.

 

Back to the beach in the afternoon. At the end of the day, we turned in our towels (they gave us vouchers although the front desk didn't ask for them back when we went back for our sail and sign cards).

 

The bar by the water park is nice for giving you a list of different drinks they can make you.

 

Taxi's were waiting out front to take us back to the ship.
