xxluvmyfiremanxx Posted April 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2007 I was wondering if anyone has stayed in this room and if it was a good choice. It's a cat. 11 with an extended balcony and I was mainly wondering if the empress deck towards the rear of the boat was a good choice thanks!
serene56 Posted April 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2007 Did you pick the cabin or was it given to you for a gurantee cabin? we are always on the aft of the ship. Booked balconies back there 7 out of 9 times. http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1281912617062547426egqLTB cabin sleeps 4 people., Your balcony will be long and narrow. xxluvmyfiremanxx Posted April 11, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted April 11, 2007 We booked it. This is our first cruise and I thought the idea of an extended balcony was a good idea but wasn't sure if the location was a good one. Thanks for the picture!!! serene56 Posted April 11, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2007 my concern here is what your expectations of an extended balcony is. your balcony could look like this there are bigger balconies elsewhere on the ship. but these are not suite cabin- do you need a cabin for 4 people? xxluvmyfiremanxx Posted April 12, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted April 12, 2007 No there will be 2 of us! Oh I did think the cabin might be bigger, on the website it said that this cabin had a 50% larger balcony but I guess that's ok if the location is good! serene56 Posted April 12, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2007 Yes the cabin is bigger then a regular one. Your balcony is longer compared to the other cat 11s But when a first time cruiser comes in and says they have an extended balcony it makes me wonder what their expectations are. Some people think they can get two lounge chairs out there and thats where they will sun and fun-- its not that big. i guess for your cruise all the cat 11 on the corners are gone. Your best bet for any carnival ship is those corner wraps. (keep that in mind for future cruises.)

nvtia Posted April 12, 2007 #8 Share Posted April 12, 2007 We had this exact cabin. You'll love it! It's beautiful with the granite and accent lighting. We had hoped the balcony was bigger but it was fine. At least it's a balcony!!! It always seemed like a long walk to the back of the ship (that could be the fault of a few cocktails) and there was some vibration but not bad. xxluvmyfiremanxx Posted April 13, 2007 Author #9 Share Posted April 13, 2007 YEAH!! I'm so excited thanks! Do you by any chance have any pictures? ya looking at where it is I'm thinking a couple nights it will seem to be a very long walk for us also but well worth it and after some drinks I'm sure the vibration will actually help me sleep haha! Well thanks again!! happy Sailing!!!

xxluvmyfiremanxx Posted April 15, 2007 Author #12 Share Posted April 15, 2007 Do I have a chance of being bumped out of this room??!!
serene56 Posted April 15, 2007 #13 Share Posted April 15, 2007 Going when you are the chances of being bumped are minimal. If it was a higher sailing season with lots of families youwouldnt be able to book the cabin. You will be fine. On the day you are getting off the ship-- ask the steward if you can take a peak in at the cabin next door-- the corner aft. Ask if you can take a look at their balcony. You wont be able to do it during the week-- thats why i said do it the last day when everyone is out and the steward is doing up the cabins for the next people. These corners are true suites -they are broken down into sections. THe sitting roomis seperated from the sitting area. But its the balcony that is most impressive. nvtia Posted April 15, 2007 #14 Share Posted April 15, 2007 Here are some photos from Sept of 2004. I didn't end up with many inside the cabin. It looks like they have changed the beds/linens since then. http://new.photos.yahoo.com/nvtia61/album/576460762398095295
