Tipping on Excursions

Do people tip the excursions guides? If so, how much? What if there is more that more guide on the excursion, do you tip all of them or just give one amount to the person in charge for them to split?

I tip around $5 PP per guide if more than 1. If its a real long on say 4+ hours, I tip double. Thats me do what ever you feel comfortable with. Some will tip a lot more some won't tip at all.

 

If there was a small bus ride to get to the start of the trip I might throw a buck or two the drivers way.

I tip as well. Quite often there will be a small plug for a tip for the guide and the driver as well. How much varies on how good they were and how many of us went.

The amount we tip varies for each excursion. A lot of things come into play. Was it a bad, good or great excursion? How many of us were on the tour together? How many "guides" did we have? We start at a bare minimum tip and go up depending on all these things.

We have always tipped on excursions, but the amount varies based on the quality of the excursion. There is always just the two of us (my husband and I) and the least amount we've tipped is $5 total (for an excursion that was lousy, though it wasn't the tour guide's complete fault). Typically, we tip $5/person, total $10, as most of our excursions are 3-4 hour tours.

Yes, we also tip the tour guides about the same as everyone else $5 per person, although i tipped more depending on service.
