K1200S Posted April 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2007 What are folks doing in San Juan from 3 to 10 PM? Come next January when I go on Liberty there will only be 3 hours of daylight so what is there to do?
emd1 Posted April 16, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2007 There is a very nice walking tour of old town San Juan on frommers dot com. You can get a map and do that in a few hours, and El Morro is on the walking tour, as well as the nice cathedral (and down the street a few doors is the Collins cigar family's place to buy cigars if that interests you) and other historical buildings, statues, great colonial Spanish architecture. That will lead you to the shopping area where you can shop and have dinner if you want to do so.

We were there this past December same time frame and they had the Christmas lights lit, it was so beautiful. d
lilmisstramp Posted April 16, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2007 I also am interested in ideas as I will be in San Juan from 3-10 on the FOS 5/6/07 sailing. I think this is her first Eastern Caribbean sailing.
cherski Posted April 16, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 16, 2007 You could also take the Bacardi Rum Factory tour. The last start time is at 4:15. There's a ferry across the bay that's fun but you'd have to check the schedule to see if it would work. It leaves from the same pier area that you dock at. Otherwise you could take a cab or the ship's tour.
